In one word, the maha-episode was AWESOME!
UPDATE: You guys have suggested that having real-life public voting really had no bearing on the content of the maha-episode, but instead was a way for SP to gauge how many people watch DABH and what they thought of the current WTC track. This is an excellent suggestion! 😊
By they way, StarPlus was doing some cross-promotion of DABH on Friday 10/8/12, which was nice to see. On Saath Nibhana Saathiya, the Modi and Shah families were getting together at the Shah residence to celebrate Janmashtami. Rashi was on her phone and Kokila (her kaaki-saas) snapped at her, asking her why she was on the phone when they were all there together for the festival. Rashi told Kokila about Sooraj's WTC situation and the public poll, and that she was voting in favour of him being allowed to cook vegetarian food. Kokila then said that if this was the case then she would also vote for Sooraj. I thought this was a very nice, seamless way of slipping this into SNS - the Modi's and Shah's are all vegetarian as well and Rashi really is attached to her phone most of the time, so this sequence looked really natural and not out of place at all. The only other SP show I watch is Pyar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyara Pyara and there wasn't any mention of Sooraj in the Friday episode of it. Was there any mention of voting for Sooraj in any other SP shows on Friday?
Ok, back to my original topic - no matter whether they chose from two sequences based on the public votes or were always going with the one that we saw, the maha-episode was really good. I'm glad Sooraj was confident and able to rise to the challenge! I thought the most coolest part was when he was flipping his pastry! His happiness at getting in to the final was fantastic, as was the look on Sandhya's face. Mathie's surprise at his skill throughout the semi-final was funny, and it was good to see Gary not going too over the top this time. I also liked the second judge's reaction to Sooraj's food. Another hilarious part was when the final poll results were declared in Sooraj's favour and Mathie was wondering how this could have happened. At that point, the only thing I could think of was if Mathie had realised yet that there are only about 7 billion people in total on the planet, not over 400 billion meat-eaters like she had said earlier in the week! 😆🤣
The WTC track has been sort of weird at times but the one thing I have liked about it overall is that Sooraj has indeed become more confident in himself as a result of it. I'm really glad that he has worked up the courage to tell Sandhya how he feels about her, and am really looking forward to Monday's episode, just like the rest of you. We might all be crying with joy by the end of it!
