yaar, not a must all IPS cops should have chips on their shoulders, all they need is ability to handle situations ...

dont aimless ppl make good ranks when they join ARMY , randomly ????? its all about training and getting to see things from way ur suppose to ,

i am not supporting sandhya, i agree she is neither weak nor strong , but none are born leaders or so , just having a strong attitude doesnt make a person stamp its their field or make one think its their field ...

Much like being a snger, or being dancer is an inborn talent, so is this profession.

Arent this inborn talent been sharpened ???? dont they practice to become best in their field ?

It demands a solid steel spine, quick-thinking abilities, dynamism and leadership qualities, ability to handle, manage and overcome volatile confrontations.

She showed everything in first episode dear , just caz she locked her dream cannot dismiss saying she never had these qualities ... when ur own family betrays u one need time and inner strength to over come it , sandhya was trying to hold on to her dream she did , its not like she didnot give up so easily , she did put a fight

Even the junior most IPS officer is responsible for the law and order situation in an entire district.

yes, they all go through grilling yaar

All the stages that you mention test these abilities and Sandhya simply doesn't have the grit in her to aspire to that position. It's time that serial makers stop trivializing such responsible positions and careers and stick to 20-min eye-locks.

Hmm, are they just showing eye locks and nothing more ???arent they showing the different emotions, not the same ones we see in every show , just caz she has a dream doesnt mean she cannot fall for a person ... yaar, if they are showing ambitious gal turning into soon to be typical bahu, then they might have something in their mind, else they wont touch IPS, they could have chosen any other field , not s/w thats general one ...

Don't know your age-group but would suggest that you try and catch some episodes of an old-time serial called Udaan. That will give you an insight on what it takes to aspire to be an IPS officer. It needs a girl who has the strength to stand up against goons and till her fields single-handed not someone who needs her father to play watchdog while she is reading under the street lamp.

She didnot ask her father to stay, he insisted on staying , udaan yes, that was different , lets see how this goes,
yet, how can an educated ambitious girl get married to someone without talking to them is beyond me.

trust me , it still happens , not talking about arrange marriages, but not talking before marriage, i find it very silly i mean like ur going to spend ur whole life with a stranger , yet u are not allowed to talk ?

I really enjoy reading ur side , dont mind me , couldnt resist jumping in ...

I remeber watching Udaan but I am not able to recollect anything except only one episode in which the police officers will be allotted places to control riot and the lead will be sent to an area which is usually very calm place and does not need any measures taken by the police to control anything. BUT I guess Udaan was based on Kiran Bedi's biography.

AND DABH is FICTION where they want to highlight a husband supporting his ambitious wife to achieve her dream.
Again, I believe, professional skills can be learnt and improved by people who have the desire to succeed. I have seen many people who are deemed to be unfit for the job they have been selected improving with training and time.
Regarding Sandhya's strength, it is too early to expect to see the strong side of her and her dad being with her when she was reading under the street lamp does not show her as weak because no matter what a person's age or profession is, parents treat them as children only.
This is a fictional show and they are starting it with the lead still not completed her education and has a long way to go and this is far better than others where all of a sudden, the lead not sure of educational qualification joins the office and starts managing the company at its best.
@gangubai1: Your points are valid and I like reading such posts. Even I do not like bahus who do not stand up for themselves but I think Sandhya is different.

Ermm!!... gud question lol!!..
i guess she will know deep
down that her brother is the guilty one!!.. cuz he was deadset in getting her married!! so that he could fulfill his dream of going to the States!!!!
.. on the other hand.. maybe she will misunderstand suraj!!.. thinking he is a liar and a cheat!!.. but then again when suraj told the bus conductor to treat women wiz respect might indicate that she will know he is not the kind of guy who will cheat a girl in order to get the girl to marry him!!
Anywayzz.. the story is yet to developed.. hence it will be interesting to see the twist this promo brings"!! but i do hope that Sandhya doesnt become a doormat and actually stands up to her saas!! when the right time comes lol!!

She has taken two weeks and still not opened her mouth about her life goals forget about clarifying all these things before marriage itself. What kind of an IPS officer will she be? it's better a girl like her sit with her lips sealed and play the perfect beendni of her dragon sasuma. that is all she is fit for.

😆

where is Angelbud? i miss her/him after reading this post 🤔

Sandy has become very weak...to be a police officer you have to be very tough... afew episodes back she put on someones else's shoes to which she was accused of stealing... she should have said no.. instead she ran got on a bus without money and nearly got thrown of the bus if it wasnt for Suraj she would have...so Sandy is shown as a weak person... and the man is there to help she cant do anything without Suraj...

@ b2011 Udaan was based on the life of Kanchan Chaudhary, who was India's first woman DGP. The serial was written and directed by her sister kKavita Chaudhary who also enacted the lead role. But my reference to the serial was to illustrate the kind of grit required in a woman to be an IPS officer, even today that same kind of grit and determination is required.

@JustJ and b2011: I appreciate when people can hold sane discussions without getting into personal attacks and retain respect fr each others opinions and be friends while still being on opposite sides of the fence on a particular topic. So loved locking horns with you :)

I wont call that transformation silly for sure, we still live in a world where a gal is treated like nothing and house wife material after wedding , no matter how educated she is , not every one living in cities also are open with this idea, husbands want their wifes to work for financial support but only some encourage their wifes in their fav careers ,
I dont know about ur thinking but for me yes a gals life changes when her marriage is announced , i had seen many cases and i pity them ...

Again i disagree , she is definitely IPS material , right now all she is looking for is approval , a IPS officer doesnt have to be always aggressive, have attitude , even a calm person can become a good IPS officer , and coming to being strong, sandhya is neither weak nor strong she is in btw, a tough training will make the gal have command on life ...

I have seen numerous examples of girls who gave up their life's ambitions for the sake of marriage and have zero respect for them in my personal life too.

One such girl was my own first cousin. THe girl was a state rank holder in her graduation, was preparing to be a CA and had already cleared her articleship and first year exams when her marriage got fixed. To my horror the very next day the girl packed her books and began applying facepacks and studying recipe books. Haven't spoken to her for the last 20 years.

But even more criminal are girls who get into professional courses like medicine and engineering or MBA through competitive exams and then give it up for the sake of marriage. Such girls in my opinion should be shot and all girls in their families be forever barred from pursuing education beyond 12th standard. They not only waste the country's resources in giving them expensive education but also prevent other deserving candidates from getting the seats that they might've needed and made good use of.

In a marriage if a woman asks her husband's permission to work or study or give up her job if she so desires then that is not a true marriage. It is a woman's right to pursue or not pursue the activities she wants to. By the way denying your wife freedom to work if she wants to or forcing her to work if she doesn't want to are both considered acts of violence under the current Domestic Violence Act.
