Their is nothing funny about being disabled full stop!! Call it what you want to in your ignorance but either was its not funny to poke fun at!!!!

Understand now?

And I'm saying that handicapped isn't offensive to a person with a disability as it is used commonly...
And besides, its a show...with imperfect characters...there not all going to be angels! They have to show negativity, the have to show ignorance, they have to show illiteracy..whatever! So, people do mock disabled persons...that doesn't mean its funny, but its showing the characters and what the characters are like...the whole show isn't about that..!

Well If we are going to support this kind of humour in any shape or form it just underlines the fact that once again people with disabilities are something to laugh at!! Why cant you get the point Suvi7884! It is just not funny in any way at all and broadcasting people that do it for fun is clearly a violation of human rights to dignity regardless of their body and its deformity or disability! You call them "imperfect characters" to hide this blatant offence behind!! Its not right to do this in any program whatsoever especially since its obvious that the writers didn't even realise they were doing it! The theme was not disabilities and how people are abused because of that was it! The theme was a woman being forced into a marriage and being laughed at at the same time!

Sorry but your wrong and this show is an offence. It contains themes that it does not understand hence the terrorism episode that suddenly became obsolete and now this! DABH just tramples over anything honest good and real!

I'm sure the writers realised what they were doing... Say, for example, in a show, there is a rapist...or a serial killer...that doesn't mean the show is promoting or supporting such acts...its just that they are showing that there are such people in the world..and there are people that are ignorant, like in DABH...its not meant to offend...and terrorrism?

Who are you trying to reason with?
This person does not understand what is politeness and is not ready for polite behaviour. Moreover he/she/transvestite with utmost respect is only here to find out the sillest of faults with the show. ARE YOU INDIAN? you are bent on throwing abuses at the country. Keep you UK knowledge to yourself.

so I watched this episode where these dialogues were spoken...I guess its nt DABH thats incorrect cos handicapped and bog eyed r two different things, a squint in the eye doesnt make you handicapped...alot of dramas are interpreted totally differently when its translated in english i dont think DABH was was politically incorrect the subtitles were wrong...it was just abit of fun between a few family members nothing wrong with that...i understand ur point Angelbud but it was only a bit of banter between family

Are the producers of the show not responsible for the subtitles then? Its just so irresponsible of them and really hurtful to people!! Well its good that at least another person realised how this cold be seen as offensive as many of us in the uk feel it is! I will also check with a professional translator as well to confirm the "bog eyes" thing! I don't really think that was appropriate though either but not as bad as the insult! Thanks for posting, really nice that someone cares instead of bashing like the other keep doing to me!

Lets use your example then to underline your ignorance on the matter!! According to you a person murdered by a serial killer is as common as a wedding in india and the subsequent abuse of people with disabilities then? Or someone being raped can be compared to someone poking fun at someone with a handicapped or a stutter! The fact that this program is a daily soap that chooses to poke fun at anyone disadvantaged is wrong! Unless you can tell me about a daily soap that regularly murders people, rapes them and is popular? Programs like that are not usually daily soap material and neither is the script for DABH! Consider your self wrong again!!

Friends Now?😳

of course i wont bash its your opinion and the whole point of a forum is to show your point of view and tell people what u think of the programme..the producers are definitely responsible. They should take more care when translating because many words are translated into something thats not even being said.

you know crazyfairy, putting ur point across is one thing but being damn right rude and calling someone transvestite is a different thing...many people here have just abused angelbud but u lot keep forgetting that the point of a forum is to UNDERLINE NEGATIVE AND POSITIVES OF THE SOAP AND TO PUT PEOPLES POINTS ACROSS AND COMPARE THEM, u all need to accept that..

People i think this argument should stop here because its just getting out of hand...Sham Angelbud was abused first by Mahi etc all of u remember:

India Forums does not permit posting of any content or material which is or can be construed as being

  • sexually explicit, po*nographic
  • offensive to any religion, race or community
  • abusive language or Derogatory Expressions.
  • violative of anothers Intellectual Property
and if it helps i got a bad stammer lol so i shud be offended by DABH but im not cos it was only banter between family, and at one point i used to walk with a limp in my leg cos i broke it but i havent took offence cos like i sd it was only Banter...jus the subtitles were different they should have said she walks with a limp instead of handicapped. cos most limps can be fixed unless ofcourse its permanent. Lets keep the handicapped and stammerers in mind and forget this argument come on guys please get along with each other.
