Hi Guys!
Many of you don't know me, some of you might have forgotten me (😭) and some of you will still remember me 😛 ... soooo
First of all a big hello to everyone...
Before I go on to the real point... it's been a looong time since I posted a topic here... although I have been replying to some of the threads from others... So please excuse me if I've lost the touch of making my posts interesting 😆
Also, I have a very bad habit of going on and on and on with myself... so please forgive me if I go on for too long 😆
Anyways... I went to a Medical Conference a few months ago... and I got a chance to see the most amazing thing in my life... a real life surgery!

At the end of the surgery, we got to ask the surgeon any questions we had... and we learnt from his answers that while operating on a patient, or handling a serious case, they tend to completely detach themselves from the patient... so for example... in a surgery, he said that, "All surgeons completely detach themselves from their patients, they don't think that the body in front of them, the exact same body that they're going to cut open, is a real body. All they keep in their mind is that they have a body in front of them, and they have to do their best to get that body back into a live, fully-functioning machine."
Now that really struck me... I mean obviously you have a living person in front of you that you will be operating on, and your aim is to make them better, but sometimes that isn't always possible.
Another thing I found, correct me if I'm wrong Doctors, is that they aren't permitted to operate their relatives or friends; this is because they can become emotional... etc etc.
Now if you relate all this to DMG... You must have all realised... all the interns do tend to get exremely attached to their patients... think about Minnie's case, think about Riddhima's patient who passed away, think about Nana... think about Gappu... all these patients are ones who the interns love dearly... and we've seen that when Minnie's condition was critical, Armaan cried... when Riddhima's patient passed away, Riddhima cried...
Many of the medical conditions mentioned in DMG are completely true... and even the propanol fact is true according to one of my friends who's a chem researcher...
So I was just wondering that is it just me who's thinking too much about this 'Detaching oneself from one's patient' or does DMG have that teeny bit of 'unreality' in it?
Bear in mind that I'm not complaining... I love DMG, the current track... but I was just recollecting some of the things I learnt at the conference which made me think of DMG😛
I hope I didn't bore you all to hell!😆
Lots of love,
Sonia
