PART 17
The christmas celebrations proceeded smoothly. Everyone had a gala time. And now New year's eve was approaching.
The interns had completed a major portion of their internship, with just a few more months to go. They had acquired all the skill, determination, knowledge and the enthusiasm that a professional doctor is supposed to attain. Dr.Keerthi and Dr.Shashank were like proud parents to have nurtured these budding doctors, who were gonna make it big tomorrow. Sanjivani's patient load had picked up steadily, in fact it was now soaring with patients. Whatever little loss the hospital was suffering in the last five years, was recovered in no time.
A contest had been organized for the cancer affected kids to come up with their creativity. It could be anything, a song, a dance, a write-up, anything. And one intern was alloted to help out each kid.
It was new year's eve. Angad was paired with Chikki. They decided to come up with a duet. Kripa and her partner Aryan planned to write an article on how India can progress. Muskaan was well in the middle of her rehersals for her dance performance with Duggu. Rahul and Sur decided to splash colour with their painting. Atul and Ananya came up with their little colorful garden. Riddhima helped Gappu write a poem on Happy New Year. Armaan and Minnie practised for a street play on Health is Wealth. And lastly Anjali, alongwith Prateek planned to speak about their new year resolutions.

The stage was set. It was showtime.
Riddhima was the MC yet again. Presenting to you Gappu with his brilliant poem. Gappu stepped in excitedly and narrated his poem with the right punctuation and style, leaving everyone applauding.
"That was brilliant Gappu! Next we move on to Ananya with Dr.Atul."
"Hello everyone! My name is Ananya. And I'm here to display my cute little garden which I made with Dr.Atul's help."
Everyone stepped forward to take a look at the little girl's creativity, and they awestruck with her ideas.
"Wow! That was a lot of creativity. Moving on to Minnie with Dr.Armaan" Riddhima blushed as she pronounced the name.
"Hi friends. I am Minnie. And today me and boyfriend, oops! Dr.Armaan are going to present a short skit."
Armaan was depicted as an ill patient, while Minnie was his doctor. They ended their play with the moral- health is wealth. Angad whistled at the duo.
"Excellent performance there Minnie! Thank you for entertaining us. Next, we have Chikki with Dr.Angad. Let's see what they have in store for us."
Chikki and Angad sang I love my India from Pardes. The performance was a raging hit, and it ended with a huge round of applause.
"Chikki you have the voice of a nightingale. Amazing performance. Thank you! Let's see who's next. Well, it's Prateek with Dr.Anjali."
Little Prateek grabbed on to the mike as soon as he was handed it over. He spoke on his new year resolutions, and Anjali added on some more. Everybody cheered for them.
"So little Prateek has a lot on his mind. Good job! Now I call upon Sur with Dr.Rahul."
Sur showed everybody her painting with the theme Nature at its best. Atul was highly impressed with her piece of art for obvious reasons.
"Beautiful work there Sur. It's really lovely. Now may we have Aryan and Kripa on the stage please."
Aryan stammered as he spoke "I have written an article on vision 2020 for India, with Dr.Kripa's help." He read out his work, leaving the audience dumbfounded.
"Aajkal ke bachche toh talent ka bhandar hain" Muskaan blurted.
"That was absolutely thought provoking Aryan. We definitely hope India reaches greater heights tomorrow. And now ladies and gentlemen! The final contestant! Duggu with Dr.Muskaan"
The lights dimmed. The music started. Rahul stood rooted to his spot, as he watched Muskaan take the centre-stage. My, my, was she looking glamorous! He always thought she was cute, but in the cuter way. And today, he realized how gorgeous she was actually!
Duggu and Muskaan danced on Radha from Student of the year. Muskaan's eyes occasionally met Rahuls' and she couldn't help but smile at him. He was one person whom she could endlessly argue and quarrel with, yet, it was different to not have a fight. Life would be incomplete.
The dance ended on a thumping note. The audience went into a tizzy with Armaan, Angad and Atul clapping like maniacs, while Rahul glared at them.
Dr.Shashank was too overwhelmed with the success of this event. "Brilliant job done by all the kids. Tonight! Everybody was a winner."
All the kids were called upon with their respective partners and were handed over their trophy and a big box of their favourite goodies and savouries.
