Actor Ayaz Khan is super excited about the role that he is playing in the film Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane na. When scriptwriter and director Abbas Tyrewala approached him with the role, Ayaz grabbed the offer. "The role was so interesting that I had to do it," says the actor who finds travelling the best part of the job. The film shot largely in Bombay and Jaisalmer will be releasing soon. "In fact when Aamir saw the rushes of the film, he told me that I've done complete justice to the role. There can't be a better compliment than this," says the Bandra boy. One interesting incident that he can't seem to forget was when he got punched in the face while shooting an action sequence for the film. "Thankfully I didn't get hurt," he says with a charming smile.
Ayaz was attracted to the glamour world right from his college days. Though he came from a highly educated family, his one brother being a doctor and the other an engineer, Ayaz could not stay far away from Bollywood. Initially he wanted to become a lawyer, but luck had something else in store for him. After being discovered in a pageant, life took a different turn for him. A lot of ramp shows and commercials followed. Theatre happened and he even played the lead role in a play My Best Friend's Wedding directed by Sandeep Sikcand. "My experience in theatre gave me a lot of confidence and I feel it has helped me act better," says Ayaz. The actor even tried his hand at daily soaps and is seen in the serial Dil Mill Gaye. A small cameo in Bluffmaster and Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd got him some recognition. Ayaz is now waiting for his big break. (Contributed by Gautam Buragohain, Urvashi Ashar and Deepali Dhingra)
