Shona, I must, for once, speak in defense of the illogical one.
She was sitting in the fire escape reading what she thought Armaan had written for her (remember, she asks him to honestly admit that he wrote this for her). So she was actually savouring the gigantic effort (given his non-existent Urdu) that her man had made for her, and, what better place to do it than their love hideout?
As for keeping the shayari, I think many of us would do that as well. Its a kick to know that someone thinks you are beautiful and declares it publicly. Keeping it was more a woman's vanity than being unfaithful to her relationship. I would have probably done the same. Being in a relationship does not blind you to everything else.
Even the line "kya main khoobsorat hoon?" while really irritating, was to me a woman's vanity seeking validation from the one man who matters most to her. The guy who'd written the poetry obviously thought so, but she wanted Armaan to tell her that she was indeed beautiful because more than anyone else, she wanted him to think that she was beautiful...
Not that changes the fact that her character frustrates me no end!!
