i would just like to add this to prove to others that we follow what we preach...

for instance sareeta had, almost a month back, promised a short story titled eyes of a river, for which she had posted a preview and asked for responses. for some reason she was unable to post it all this while.

but today when she posted the story, she dug up her previous post and edited the post to now include the first part of story. it would've been far simpler for her to just start a new topic and increase her already high count of 13 posts. but she respected the space on the forum!!!

last night i had a fresh idea for a post, but i realised that the idea could be incorporated into sareeta's post on akhri mod and did just that instead of making a seperate post!

i don't think it is that difficult or unfair to respect that the forum cannot be cluttered all the time with repeated posts or plagiarised ideas, the latter being far more serious than just irritating!!!

@ anu go go go...keep the posts coming!! am not giving up this time!!!

Aarti, that's an excellent post, and demonstrates very well that you and Sareeta do indeed practice what you preach. Not that there were ever any doubts 😉

anu...its not just sareeta and i, there are several others like us who seem to respct forum rules but instead of getting appreciated, we not only get brickbats, but our ideas are lifted straight off and then posted repeatedly, so our original posts just disappear in the pages somewhere!!!

@arti n sareeta...this post being made sticky shows the mods support..
as some people here hav mentioned that new members shud not be discouraged...i hav a point to put across...i am a new member here and most of u all will agree that u hav never seen a post by me except the blooper one yesterday...that too when i made sure tht it wasn't already posted...i feel that the daily dose(agreement/disagreement/applaud/resent)on the episode shud be posted in the episode dissection box...and when u hav something extra to put across an insight,a different view or something interesting and creative which others might want to read...only then shud u make a new topic...it completely fails me to know that people here start topics just to get on that box...maybe i m new and dont know if there are any benefits to be on that box(are there? 😕 )...let me just tell u wat i do wen i come to the forum...i dont see who has started max topics...i see if there is a post by arti/sareeta/mehak or some others...or if there is an interesting and NEW topic....
and yes it is shameful if ppl dont credit the original writer for their posts...
if we dont hav something worthwhile to put in...why waste the space...the first page of the forum is generally cluttered with topics that have 15-20 views an 6/8 replies...its not njoyable...

lets forget personal differences (if any) and make the forum an enjoyable entertainment experience...by following certain ethics...yes these are ethics to respect forum space...n credit other ppl wen u use their work..

@ kan123...i have been exactly where u are right now, not too long back and know what you are talking about. and i have noticed that you don't make irrelevant or redundant posts. thank you so much for that and for honouring forum space. people like you make the forum worthwhile.

it is very sad actually, most newcomers do seem to respect the code, its the oldies who seem to have taken it for granted that being veterans on the forum they can do as they please and then they talk about giving newcomeres a chance. how will the newcomers ever get a chance if there are to be a million and 4 posts on whether or not the new guy is actually mr.right for ridhima...

i like what you said about working together to make the forum a better place, but kan...it seems like there are some people who are only looking for a way to start a controversy and descredit everything sareeta and i say...and this is not the first time!!!

The post in no way undermines others contributions and no individual names were taken to glorify their contributions either, and it certainly was NOT about repititive posts only as you put, but about blatant stealing of ideas ( had to be crude here, lest we be misunderstood yet again) without as much decency to credit the original posters.

Like i mentioned if that the case then we should be advising the owner of the thread that this topic was started ...and advise the Dev of the topic!...like i mentioned earlier😳

The forum is for everyone , and right to expression was never questioned , but it was plea to respect the code of honor that is associated with it. There was certainly no mention of new members and their posts , let alone discouraging them.

We certainly deem ourselves intelligent enough, not to be sermoned about what IF is all about!!

And it certainly escapes me as to what part of the post was not nice , that you found the need to express it , that we are to express nicely all over again to everyone?

The post as I see it , as clear as it could be in its intent, and to see that being yet again misinterpreted in such a deplorable manner and raising non issues as issues is to say the least resentful.

And may I dare add, that to have ideas being stolen(pardon the usage of this crude word, but it seems the response called for this, coz borrowed , a word seems too dignified for the acts) , and not acknowledging the original posters is not something to jest about!

If that the case then the post should be...closed bythe dev team!😳

as regards mehak and her posts...if you have noticed, in my illustration i have mentioned that she was the original potser and that 20 minutes later someone else (name not mentioned) wrote the exact same thing....while mehak understood this, the meaning has obviously been totally lost on you!

as for stealing ideas and passing them as being original...i have nothing more to add because it makes me want to throw up! that is how disgusting it is. intellectulal property rights are as severely guarded by law as life itself.

and last, but definitely not the least...we did not ask for this topic to be made a sticky. sunita conferred this honour upon us of her own accord and that by itself speaks volumes about the credibility of our concerns.

😆....OMG!! i guess we all interpret things differently... and as an individual and an IF member i guess my views do not fit into your way of thinking...😳...Its not Twisted as u put it i came across the 2 posts of ur as they are sticky!!... nothing more ... you know mahatma gandhi said once that if you feel the whole world is wrong and only you right, you should understand that you are the one that is wrong and going by the reactions of everbody else on this post...i rest my case and am not about to shed any tears or spend any sleepless nights over your refusal to participate.

Would like to add one point...i dont think any members wants to "Steel" anyones ideas...we have members login on different times of the day and they may not see all the posts... i come one this time and in the evening time (UK) i dont go to page5 and see the post logged today so i dont think these members do either.... i guess what im sayin is this place is very busy and we dont alway see every post like would like too...
