i dont like the story of cousins falling in love. its just kinda weird to me as all my cousins are like my brothers...

u r right. its not illegal, but audience from other parts of india except Andhra Pradesh may not digest such stories, where cousins fall in love, as we(especially me) couldn't digest the stories where "bhabi -devar marriages and love stories". because in our place bhabi maa saman hothe hai. but in 'KUMKUM', 'KYUNKI......' AND 'KJK' they've shown the bhabi-devar love stories/marriages. that means maa se shaadi no way.
