yep DMG has started with a bang, within a month DMG SEASON 1 started it was found on the Sky magazine in England (a magazine for english/american programmes) so far only latest (2007 onwards) indian movie to get recognition in sky magazine was My Name is Khan and the only Indian programme to get recognition as a hidden gem is DMG
oh now i wish i didn't recycle the magazine i would have sourced it. i think it coul;d be found on request. 2007 edition

Well, the show is definitely very popular or else we wouldn't have folks here practically arguing almost every single day about the show and their fav cast.....Even though DMG copied lots of stuff from the bollywood movies, it always manages to create a lasting impression on the viewers and we can't say the same for the other tv serials cause they don't have the X factor in their show, the X factor being Karan Singh Grover of course...Now, some of the scenes which are acted out in DMG are actually way much better than the original scene itself...one classic example is when KSG performed the song sequence for "Dil Haare Re" back in 2008, it was a totally mind-blowing performance....and when you compare it to what Saif did in the original, Saif's performance was such a disappointment...

It's quite natural that the other tv serials would definitely rip off some scenes from DMG especially DMG is the most popular and most talked-about serial...and that's where the comparison begins.....and without a doubt, DMG will always be the better one....In fact, we even see the other tv actors are trying to imitate Karan Singh Grover's acting and his style but they fail miserably...and that's because, Karan Singh Grover can never be duplicated.....

The bhook hartal thing actually happened in an old shashi kapoor and kishore kumar movie called Pyaar Kiye Jaa.

DMG did start the whole dupatta, eyelock and heroine falling and hero holding her thing - which now happens in each and every star one show. Some people like it. I don't, it seems juvenile to me. No offence intended to those who like it, though.

Most of the secens from DMG are originally from different start plus shows thats used to some earlier....probably most dont know here coz they are still in school (maybe)..and as for it being a benchmark ..i would say it has not reached the level of the older serials ...everyone still knows who tulsi and mihir and parvati and om were ...but not everyone knows who armaan or ridhima is
