Lol what's funny is while I was just at the beginning of your post, my thoughts were Riddhima is confused, spineless, weak and very indecisive. Lo and behold, you used the same terms later on in your post. It just proves that great minds think alike (lol), and on a more serious note that these aspects of her personality are quite clear. There are many instances throughout DMG's lifespan when Riddhima has displayed these traits, and ya they include the old AR times of KaSh (I'm not gonna be biased in my judgment). But I think she's acted the worst in this current track. Heck she's been acting quite obnoxious ever since she chose Sid over Armaan, and Shilpa came into the picture. But she's been at her worst in the second round of the ping pong match, and that's why I feel her character has been completely butchered now (not that she was great before).
People can keep on harping about how it was her farz and now "basket" is back, but for me JW is not Riddhima; she is merely playing a messed up character whose name is Riddhima.

Anyways Riddhima's messed up, Armaan's messed up, and DMG's messed up. Glad SO is cleaning up the mess on October 29th :)
Good riddance!

lmao, great minds do think alike!
hmm, I think what was really brought out well during KaSh/AR times was her incapability to deal with emergencies, and yes, that would have been an amazing sub-plot had CVs not decided to dump it midway 😕
ridhima is defenitely at her worst stage right now, she's a failure on both fronts - personal and professional. and inspite of being in her late 20's or early 30's, she has the pulse of a 60 year old.
JW can never be ridhima for me. she's a good actress, yes, but not ridhima. and neither was sukriti. but that's besides the point ;)
GOOD RIDDANCE INDEED!

Neetz Awesome post!

Ok I loved Riddhima when DMG started, I mean she is irrating as hell at times but there were parts of her character I could connect with, till about last month and now I think why the hell did I even like her character!

She can not make a simple decision, it is simple at the end of the day, because the world will eventually accept it and move on but here all she done is keep Sid on a leash and never let Armaan out of her grasp! Has she ever thought if she just left Armaan alone he would have moved on by now?

Anyways I loved your post and that is all I wanted to say!

I think her and KSG were willing to sacrifice anything(morals, values, traditions, religion)to make sure AR ended up together but guess what all the fans have left this crapfest. The only ones around are the phorever love fans who think KSG is God.

no idea what happened off-screen, but yeah, Idk how she agreed to potray such a character? 😕 forces of nature, or laws of attraction? 😉 😆

Guruji! Ye bakht ab apni poori zindagi aapke charano mein guzare gi...

And regarding the topic, well I once used to like Riddhima but that was three years ago. At first glance she seemed the chui-mui satti-savitri type typical lady of the show but she was strong, confident, sensitive, a little depending on others. She was mix of emotions so contradicting that it was nice to watch her. That was when Shona was Ridzy.

When Suku came...I stopped watching the show but I could see a little changes in her character. She was there but she wasn't the same. But time changes stuff.

But when she was again changed, somewhere along the line that original Riddhima was lost. Again, she was there but the one who was once someone so strong and...unconventional in the world of TV heroins, was just lost. Although I saw a flicker of it when she came back in season 2 and thoroughly enjoyed it as well but seeing things now and seeing her so confused, I go "Is this really her? I mean, really her?"

She ain't the same anymore. Just not the same. Time and circumstances can't change someone so quickly and so drastically. And when people come up with, "she has always been in love so marriage was never a chance for her" or something along the lines allI can say is, Laila Majnu were in love. Romeo Juliet were in love. But Laila and Juliet never felt happy, even in the name of farz, with the thought of their possible future spouses. Why did she Riddhima do it then?

I can go on and on about her...but if I make a summary of it, it goes.

Riddhima is simply lost somewhere in the sands of times and there's no use justifying or even saying anything about her.

Disclaimer - The mention of actors is done purely so that I can state what I feel about the character and I've done it with no intention of bashing anyone. Peace.

Actually this debate brings fore one basic question: Is the Indian society better or the western in terms of socializing ? I live currently in france (last 2 years) and lived most of my remaining life in India. According to me both the societies are two extreme cases as in analogy with marriage and live-in relations. I think better would be to have a intermediate solution. If there is absolutely no binding, people can part ways for way too silly reasons and result could be more lone people. If there is too much binding, people can be way too imposing on each other and result could be more suffocated people. Which is better ?

well, I think the answer to your question is highly subjective, every different person would have a different opinion. as for me, I defenitely prefer the western way of life. my issue with marriage stems from the fact that now it has become a degraded and rusted institution that entails more than just 'two people getting together'. perhaps essentially marriage wasn't as bad, but over the period of time, it has been reduced to simply a social deal.
security, togetherness and stability are not garaunteed by marriage, they come from pure commitment. if a couple is married and yet not committed then there won't be any of those, but a couple may not be married but at the same time extremely committed, I think even a live-in can make them feel secure.
marriage is a complete recipe for disaster, IMO 😆

I am not defending Riddhima, But if life had played so many jokes with me, would I still be mentally strong enough to take the right decisions or at least differentiate between right/wrong, is one question am still unable to answer😊
