Lol what's funny is while I was just at the beginning of your post, my thoughts were Riddhima is confused, spineless, weak and very indecisive. Lo and behold, you used the same terms later on in your post. It just proves that great minds think alike (lol), and on a more serious note that these aspects of her personality are quite clear. There are many instances throughout DMG's lifespan when Riddhima has displayed these traits, and ya they include the old AR times of KaSh (I'm not gonna be biased in my judgment). But I think she's acted the worst in this current track. Heck she's been acting quite obnoxious ever since she chose Sid over Armaan, and Shilpa came into the picture. But she's been at her worst in the second round of the ping pong match, and that's why I feel her character has been completely butchered now (not that she was great before).
People can keep on harping about how it was her farz and now "basket" is back, but for me JW is not Riddhima; she is merely playing a messed up character whose name is Riddhima.

Anyways Riddhima's messed up, Armaan's messed up, and DMG's messed up. Glad SO is cleaning up the mess on October 29th :)

The most useless stupid woman to grace the TV screen. She makes all the women of today look bad. I will say it again, I can't believe JW allowed this to happen to her character. I think her and KSG were willing to sacrifice anything(morals,values,traditions,religion)to make sure AR ended up together but guess what all the fans have left this crapfest. The only ones around are the phorever love fans who think KSG is God.

I won't call marriage useless. But according to me it is a better relationship as it can give probably some stability, security and togetherness (if the partiners are commited to each other)? Actually this debate brings fore one basic question: Is the Indian society better or the western in terms of socializing ? I live currently in france (last 2 years) and lived most of my remaining life in India. According to me both the societies are two extreme cases as in analogy with marriage and live-in relations. I think better would be to have a intermediate solution. If there is absolutely no binding, people can part ways for way too silly reasons and result could be more lone people. If there is too much binding, people can be way too imposing on each other and result could be more suffocated people. Which is better ?

Riddhima is most psychoistic female lead I have ever seen in the history of daily soaps..and I mean pshychoistic

And seeing the amount of her ness..I'll say Armaan is the best partner she could ever had overall AR are perfect for eachother cause both of them are not normal mentally and they match eachothers Psychoness..

she is taboo to women kind, i feel sorry that cvs says she si 21st century women, what an insult to us 21st century women, we are nothing like that ridzy maya, who things something and does something else.

she makes me feel ashamed to be a women, her act made left a very bad taste, i never wish to see this kind of women in real, if i do i will shoot her, this women is a mental case, she needs doctors.

and the phorever couple is indeed good b/c karchra suits kachra which they both are.

I agree to the fact that ridhima has been confused , specially after she got married to sid....and i also agree that Ridz has at times depended on armaan...but there are reasons for it. It has been her upbringing, and her nature that has the "dependancy" part should never be bashed according to me. She has been sensitive right from the beginning. everyone has a nature, and ridzy has been a girl who has been dependent as a daughter, sensitive even if treated rashly by her sis(during the start of the season) and a weakling who was exposed to armaan's flirtatious pranks. But we cannot forget that all this had an innocence that was Ridhima's strongest side. It was her innocence that made her step-father love her more than even angie...it was her innocence that angie one fine day melted and started loving her sis...and it was her innocence that made armaan a crazy lover from the flirt he was.
ANd even today, its ridhima's innocence that has landed her in the trouble she is.
She loved armaan like she never loved anyone...
and she cud not get married to him for known reasons.
And then, she got married to sid..she cud not say no coz of her innocence to save the grace of her parents. Her mom had an heart attack right in front of her, and she cud not take it coz of her love for her!i wont say it was a gr8 decision, but i can understand why she went for the marriage.
and from then, her so called confusion started.
Becoz she was a girl who wanted to work on her marriage.
it was a part of her innocence that kept telling her to go ahead with her marriage. And I shall never doubt her attempt on it. the only problem was that her heart had loved Armaan with so much intensity that erasing him out of her heart and replacing SId. It was an impossible thisng for her, and that was the problem. SHe kept struggling, to try loving SId...she even allowed Sid to come in proximity to her at some moments, like the eyelocks or the hugs...coz she was trying..trying her hardest to accept sid in her life....but cud never succeed....coz love cannot be grown, it comes natural...and she was done loving a person so intensely, that loving again was impossible for her.

Even today, she is confused...why??coz even today she feels that she is a responsible married person. She is still trying to convince herself that she might be able to love Sid, coz he is a very good guy and he is her husband...
And she is confused becoz erasing armaan is still impossible for her, like since the last 7 months.
yeah, I do agree to the fact that living alone is not ridhiams cup of tea. She has a nature of depending on someone....be it her dad, her love or her husband...but all this is a part of her innocence and i love that in her. its intermingled you see..her innocence, her dependency and her confusion.
I wonder if i am making sense......coz it sure is complexed. But in short, her struggle can end only wen she meets Armaan forever. Coz being with SId wud have always kept her confused and struggling....struggling to love him back...which she wud try to do with all her innocence...but wud never succeed. Coz her heart can beat so crazily, so intensely only once ..and it has already done that for armaan...and she can find peace only when she has armaan back in her life...
and she deserves to lead a life of peace..coz she tried to make her marriae work but cud not..
and she should not be bashed as a characterless woman becoz of her struggles....coz whatever she has done tilldate is out of the innocence...

I agree. I I think for writers, innocence is projected as weak. KaSu was very good at playing this girl who was to timid to speak up. Jennifer brought a stronger Riddhima. But after her comeback in December, she has played a girl who was just out of it and Armaan feeds it. I think Sid's following stemmed from the fact that he made her stop playing the victim and many times he pointed out you play the victim. I have always Armaan as character is great, as lover passionate, but their is an immaturity to him when it comes to realtionships. He did feed her confusion, he makes it worse.

Riddhima is bashed for being fickle and co dependent.

I don't know what to say except I completely agree? I used to hate Ekta before but after watching DMG, I can safely bet she is a much better creative than some others😆

Thanks for a lovely POst!! I never hated Riddhima I thought that she will do the good thing.. Not ruin 3 lives.. Instead shes saving lives.. Armaan and Riddhima will be happy.. I know Sid will not but thats 1 live.. I think 1 live is better than 3 lives.. If you can't live happily together then what the point of staying together?

infact, I had even posted a topic regarding the same issue during KaSu times. when that sanjeevani concert was going on and ridhima had to dance with abhimanyu, and he walked out at the last moment, ridhima ran to armaan with teary eyes to get her problem solved instead of dealing with it on her own. it was her problem, armaan had absolutely nothing to do with it, and yet she couldn't find her way out of a problem as small as this. hmmm yeah becoz she didn't know what to do..Armaan only gave a temporary solution..but when Abhi came back, she danced with him.. I think you need a lot of courage to dance with a man you recently slapped who in turn insulted you almost immediately..😆

there are so many other examples - she didn't take a stand for her love for armaan (fasting and crying is not equivalent to taking a 'stand'), she didn't take a stand when she needed to before she got married to sid, she didn't take a stand when sid and armaan were fighting over her and just wallowed in self pity. AGREED

so it's inevitable now, that she simply cannot live without a man in her life. or just someone around her so she could depend on that person. living alone isn't everyone's piece of cake, and certainly not ridhima's. I think most of us would agree that any normal person, whether man or woman, would take time before diving right into another relationship (or rekindling an old one) after stepping out of one, but now that we know that AR is going to happen, she is simply going to waltz her way back into armaan's arms in another 5-6 days. so what if she's just been divorced? armaan hai na, baahein khole uska intezaar karne ke liye. What can we say.. the woman is damn lucky 😆

what I want to say is, that ridhima defenitely deserves all the bashing and I'd love all people who abuse her or mock her. she's the weakest TV protagonist I've even seen, even worse than ekta's women, and the only thing that's required to complete her 'personality' now is a heavy ekta-type saree and jewellery. nahh Ekta's heroins send their husbands/lovers to jail w/o proof all the time.. her serials are incomplete w/o that..😆 I hate it when she makes women so downright stupid in order to show that they are strong
