You are right. It does make sense to continue SR however in the short term only simply because AR fans have honestly given 6 months to see their reunion and are still NOT giving up. This shows their loyalty towards AR because otherwise KSG and Jenny would not be back in the show. However, since money is the creative's motive- they will keep both sides happy however in the short term only though. They gave their everything to make SR convincing (earlier before Armaan's come back) however did not manage to swing people to other side successfully. Infact DMG was told to wrap up its team by April, if sources are to be believed (various articles). My reasons for it:
1. AR seperation has not been justified,actually It has been put on to our faces to believe that they are not together anymore (which is very hard to digest for some of us)
2. SR story was rushed (honestly) that it was also very hard to digest for many fans who have watched DMG from beginning.
And in this plight to keep both sides happy (love triangle)- they have killed their show and will eventually be left with no storyline whatsoever. And not just that- they are hurting their old loyal fans who have taken 3 Riddhima's in the name of AR. And whether It is believed by everyone or not- they are the people who make 80-90% of their market (they seriously are from my observation) and to lose them like that just does not make sense in the long term.
And yes, I agree that the story has to move and SR 'may" be one way (my opinion). But I dont think the CV's have managed to do this properly- They have ruined Sid's and Riddhima's characters, after Ammy's comeback, where people are actually disliking them more rather than liking them as a couple. This is where I think they will never be able to make them very popular - my reason- the current story line is witness to this. And hence, SR's survival in long term can doubted. They may be a couple in future- but will never be a couple that has been wholeheartedly accepted by audience to appreciate it- hence less people will watch it. And as for Armaan with a new girl- there are two sides to this- it can either go good (not tremendously good) or it can go really bad (more chances of this happening).
1. good- coz KSG can spark chemistry with almost anyone and people may like it (I clearly wouldn't-very honestly)
2. bad- Armaan's character has been always been associated with Riddhima and him with another girl would certainly make us question the CV's as they would have to mess around with Armaans character in order to do that (Armaan's character sketch does not match that) and this is where they will land in hot water. plus they will have to keep KSG's popularity in mind before even thinking about it.
All in all, they really need to rethink their strategy and work things cohesively or else this show because otherwise this show is on its way to go down the drain.
