My mother calls my father 'Aap'. I don't find it demeaning. It can be looked as respect in a relationship, and is that taboo now also?

I have seen many folks and their significant others addressing each other with respect and dedication. But unfortunately that's looked upon as domineering and ridiculous these days.

For the last time I want to clear the fact that NO ONE IS SAYING THAT SAYING AAP IS BAD or Demeaning. I know its our culture and I completely respect it. Even my mom calls my dad the equivalent of aap in my language. So I'm not against it.

But in the context of this show and the characters and the equation that they share with each other and the current situation I think the whole ridz calling sid "aap" thing feels fake and wierd.

WHAT RUBBISH! Ridz wants to address Sid as 'aap' so she is doing so. BIG DEAL? No one forced her to.

Even Shashank addresses everyone as 'aap' so does this mean that he is inferior or 'patnivrata'? From where did husband being superior to wife rubbish came in? People really need to change their narrow mentality.

Addressing someone as 'aap' has NOTHING to do with being superior or 'pativrata'... it has ONLY to do with 'RESPECT'. Even I term my younger cousins as 'aap'.. so plzz STOP with these lame topics. No point of getting jealous just cuz Ridz respects Sid more then armaan😆

HAHAHAHA! Very funny! First of all stop using capitals...and second of all this may be rubbish to you but not to us...keep that in mind...How old are you? btw....mature up...

Dont tell me what I should do. And maturity has nothing to do with age.

Be logical with your reply or else dont reply to me.

Not that I want to interfere with anything you have said to another member, But its today's world age is only in number, maturity has nothing to do with age :) Its time you know that :)
And you may be opinionated, you don't necessarily have to contradict what another person has said :)

lol i know it seems very fake....
I mean all of a sudden aap.....
even if she is trying to be formal with him this aap-business is just too much.....
it just portrays that how very uncomfortable they are with each other....
btw i kno that it is culture but i dunt think that this prevails in lives of such people who are modern doctors..... especially if the husband is younger!!!..... if the CVs are trying to be practical here then show it in the dialogues too.....
nyways i am not a big fan of Rid-Sid Jodi it just seems weird to me after watchin AR for two long years.... just dont feel the connect or the love
this is just my opinion no bashin intended.
luv
