Hi guys, thanks to all of you for replying!

I am happy that so many of you share my concern and at least there are some of us who realise how wrong this is.

After today's episode, Rocky is literally trying to end Happy's life. He is taking away everything that means something to her- her family, her self-respect. He does not think of Happy as a human being and believes he deserves she is getting everything she deserves, because she is 'tum jaisi ladkiyon ko main jaanta hoon...'

WHAT THE f**k.

I am seriously disturbed and if Rocky is the male 'lead' and Happy will eventually fall for him, then it will be a slap on all of our faces.

Gonna make a new post on this issue to see if we can find some solution to bring this to the authorities' attention.

Honestly, the only way to stop all of this regressive crap is for the IB Ministry to step up and set regulations for the entertainment industry. That means calling out and eliminating all the regressive content on ITV. As a member of the public, what we can do is to sign a petition and put pressure on the IB Ministry to regulate the industry. But will this happen?

Most people are used to the regressive content on ITV and won't take part in this. Another reason is that there are people who support such crap. We blame TRP aunties for regressive content, but the matter of fact is, the youth are to blame as well. If not for them, all these abusive jodis, primarily Gul Khan's, won't be famous. Most fangirls (not everyone) only care about jodi chemistry, a good-looking jodi and romantic scenes between the leads. They don't care about content and such regressiveness. They might grumble now-and-then but at the end of the day, won't boycott such content and will even justify such crap by using the ML's 'redemption track'.

It starts with actors refusing such roles but these days people are willing to do anything to get into the industry.

I agree with you that actors should refuse, but as you rightly pointed out there is a great no. of aspirees and the worst part is that they get younger and younger such that FLs are 14-16 year olds playing the role of young women. Honestly, actors who try to do quality content aren't acknowledged enough and in fact are called flop actors when their serials end too early (cos progressive content doesn't give TRPs). So most actors choose to act in serials with regressive content to save their career.

Honestly, more so than actors, producers have to step up. Producers should all sit down together and sign an agreement that they won't show regressive content. For ITV to have a revolution, producers and GECs need to work together to force quality content on viewers and show them that they can be as great without any crap. People grew up on progressive, unique content previously before EK. Then how did EK's saas-bahu sagas become a hit and set a trend? She forced that content on viewers with her never-ending saas-bahu sagas and made crap entertaining for viewers. A revolution on ITV is really needed right now.
