I don't understand Tamil well, so I decided to check the updates on the forum rather than watch episodes of Idhayam! The story line is interesting, but of course the Tamil one has all the South Indian, Tamil trappings to it! I guess they will tweak the story (if it is the same!! again speculation!!) to suit a wider audience.

I am also puzzled by GK's role.......because Shankar, the doc's son and Nandini's husband looks to be the male lead! And there wasn't much of romance between them.......they got married within the first month of the show starting!! and probs crop up almost immediately.........didn't get it at all! I am confused now......I wonder whether we are all barking up the wrong tree by assuming this!

But the other similarities are startling............there is an elder brother and wife, there is a younger sister.......the mother is a doc and there is a bond betn MIL and DIL!!

Did they mention anything of Nandini's family in any of the articles? Cannot remember......but she is an orphan who is brought by her sister and BIL and the BIL has a sister too..........

And there is one mystery man and a mystery baby...........mera sar chakra gaya reading all this.......I read the first month's updates only!

Wish we could get an idea of the storyline of DSDV! I somehow felt that Idhayam while might be good in the Tamil environs, might just not suit Mumbai if lifted exactly like it is!!

Ayub Khan in Dil Se Diya Vachan

Ayub Khan, who is playing Jogi Thakur in Colors' Uttaran will soon be seen in FilmFarm Productions another upcoming show 'Dil Se Diya Vachan' on Zee TV.

Dil Se Diya …Vachchan, a show about class conflicts with saas-bahu saga as its backbone, is trying to break the convention by highlighting the positive relation between saas-bahu.

So, after a successful stint with Uttaran, what drew him to Dil Se Diya... Vachchan? He is quick to say, "It's always the character. This character is strong in his own humble way. He stands by his principles. His day to day issues are very real and identifiable. The dilemmas of the character drew me to it."

Ya shobha in the orginal they never mentioned about Nandini's parents.She was taken care by her sister(who is not liked by her saas) and Bil .I think the article mentions Mihir mishra playing elder brother to Gaurav.So now Mihir,Gaurav are the two sons to the Doctor played by Neena gupta who is the Saas.The first article about Dil se diya vachan says Parul playing Neena Gupta's Daugter which means we an have Gaurav - Parul as Brother sister.We can expect some cute scenes we missed in YPNHK as jeeja-Saali😉

Hmm well Shobha about the Mystery man he is the rapist who raped Nandini😡 and thus the baby.This story is unique bcoz the charecter Nandini is innocent,loving,pure at heart,does not want to harm anyone and mature ready to sacrifice her life for her loved ones.The surprising twist she does not know she was raped and she had the baby.Once she comes to know about this she is disgusted,very angry with her sister for not diclosing this to her and her inlaws before marriage.She feels she is impure ,feels depressed and her husband is shocked ,turns their life upside down,In orginal Husband ie Shankar go to such an extent he opposes his own mom thinking she spoiled his life knowing everything about Nandini's past but her MIL still supports her Dil which is amazing inspite of losing her son's trust.So here it is unique unlike other saas bahu.

thanks for the explanation, so the mystery man is from her past and not the future or present,

was wondering why the need of the DIL getting support from her MIL instead of her husband, this makes sense, would be an interesting story, sure Gaurav would handle it brilliantly as well, and it would be interesting to see the interaction between mihir, gaurav and parul... if they are indeed playing siblings

i saw abigail a bit in tujh sang and she was a good actress

more and more good things about the show, now we need promos and a start date

we were cheated out of a wedding sequence in YPNHK, hope we have one in DSDV .... show a bit of the love story between them before they bring in all the problems

@ Everyone - Thanks for all the articles and insights into the show ... Its been interesting to read everyone's take and the speculation makes the story/show all the more interesting.

From what I've read of Jas & Shobs' posts .. does seem like the show is based on Idhayam. But guess, they will tweak it a little for it to suit a wider audience. And though its been labelled as a saas-bahu show, I'm happy that they are trying to show a relationship in a more positive light. Hope the show works for everyone associated with it ... especially Gaurav.

As for the story .. though from Jas's post it seems like the girl's husband will not be supportive of her when the truth of her past is revealed ... guess, Gaurav saying that he provides the love angle to the saas-bahu saga could mean they have tweaked that bit to show the husband support his wife too. That is .. if Gaurav is indeed playing the husband.

Also .. I doubt they would go directly into the marriage bit so soon, especially if they are playing young lovers. Vandana herself looks so young .. so am guessing they will show their relationship grow ... followed by marriage and then the past come haunting her.

Dunno ... its just another round of speculations, and we won't know it all until there is some or the other article stating the concept of the show.

Besides the fact that the show has Gaurav in it .. I'm looking forward to it, also coz Neena Gupta is amongst the protagonists. She is very choosy about the roles she does on television .. and being the seasoned actress she is .. I doubt she would take up anything ordinary. Her role and the show would and should have something substantial for her to take it up in the first place.

Ya Eksie in the orginal they are not shown married in the first episode.It is an arranged marriage where the girl is from middle class but with good qualities which impresses the doc Mil and for the lead male actor it was the beautiful innocent face and f it is love at first sight 😉.

The love and trust is strong between them that he buys expensive gifts like diamond rings for his wife which surprises other family members bcoz he never brought any gifts for them.In orginal the main lead has grey shade after his wife traumatic past exposed😲

In Tamil television there is never any bold romance as shown bold like in hindi telly.like tight hugs or romantic dance between the leads😳.The romance is always shown in a very subtle way and other angles are given more importance..😊So it is always rated G😆

So I just wish if this is the story they should stick to the theme ie show how a girl's life is shattered with this traumatic incident(rape),how it affects her loved ones,relatives and how she fights the society.

but show it in less dramatic way with romance❤️ ,lighter moments between siblings😛,give more realistic approach to the situation not butchering charecters for sake of TRP

Hope this show becomes a huge success and does wonder to Gaurav⭐️

DID star in serial

After Dance India Dance finalist Binny Sharma who bagged the lead role in Sanjog Se Bani Sangini, yet another DID contestant is getting her big break in acting. Delhi-based Vandana Joshi will play the female lead in Zee's new daily Dil Se Diya Vachan.
She plays Nandini, a girl of few words, who takes a while to open up to people. The show depicts a positive relationship between a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. "DID changed my life and the offer to play the lead role in a serial is like a dream come true. After showcasing my dancing skills, I am now looking forward to bring out the actor in me," says Vandana.

Thank you Jas...........yes I guessed the mystery man would turn out to be the rapist.......I was quite sure of it! But the baby puzzled me....because surely you would know when you have a baby, though you may not remember the rape due to shock and denial! Wonder how it is that she does not remember that.........she must have had a long PTSD phase which she came out of after having the baby! This gets interesting!! 😊

And from what I read, it is the mother who is the real protagonist and the one who carries the show on her shoulders.......and I am sure Neena Gupta will do a wonderful job! She is a seasoned actress and is extremely talented......I like her a lot! 😛 and the rest of the cast also seems to be a seasoned group......surely they will all deliver and we will have another show to go gaga on! 😃 Hope the TRPs never come in our way this time!! 😕

And for Gaurav, if he is indeed the husband, then it is another kind of role altogether.........different from Abeer and his earlier ones (though I have not watched any of those shows, I have an inkling now thru the forum!)......which means it is a step up the ladder! 👏 After all, he cannot be acting similar roles in all his shows.......he has to act different kind of people.......and this one would be another feather in his cap! 😊

Now only if we could get something real to chew on........a press conference, an interview, a synopsis of the concept.....I am all ready to move to the next scenario! 😊 YaRav will always remain special and I do hope we get YPNHK 2...😳....but I am ready to see more of GK's talent in a different concept!

Zee TV's Dil Se Diya Vachan; a remake of Tamil show Idhayam

Zee TV's new forthcoming show Dil Se Diya Vachan is a remake of Telugu show named Idhayam

Film farm production and Zee TV's forth coming show 'Dil Se Diya Vachan, is the show again with Marathi Backdrop, has captured the slot of 7:00 PM and will telecast its episodes from 25th of this month. The basic storyline of the show is about how a mother-in-law (Neena Gupta) stands by her daughter-in-law(Vandana Joshi) by supporting her in all the conditions, fulfilling her promises of being a mother. Though the storyline seems fresh by look, it's actually the remake of a Tamil s On the same, we asked the producer Pintoo Guha about the remake and he was happy to say, "Yes, the show is a remake of a Tamil show called 'Idhayam' which airs on Sun TV." Talking about the inspiration he further says, "Frankly speaking, content is something which makes the show work and even I have done the same. I got inspired by the content, therefore came up with the idea to make a Hindi version of it for the audience."

Talking about choosing Zee TV to air the show, he says, "I have a good rapport with Zee TV from many years, even in 1992 my name was present on the channel for the show called 'Saap Siddi'. So it was my pleasure to bring this show for Zee TV."

Shows on Marathi Backdrop are flooding on Indian Television and even Dil Se Diya Vachan is based on picturesque land of Pune. "There was no special reason to make the show with Marathi Backdrop as the show could have been made in any lingo but the channel wanted the show to be with this backdrop due to their slot and viewers. I just wanted the show to be done in a metro and not in a village," clears Pintoo.

The tradition of shows with Marathi Backdrop has started by Ekta Kapoor by remaking of Telugu serial named Thirumathi Selvam as 'Pavitra Rishta', the gaining popularity of the show made other producers and channel to launch the show. Later on Imagine TV and UTV joined hands for another Telugu serial named Rakht Sambandham as Rakht Sambandh. In the pipeline isStar Plus' and UTV movies yet another remake of Tamil show 'Kolangal'.

Let's see how far this show adds on the numbers to the channel with the content and Marathi Backdrop.
