Polygamy, TRPs, self censorship & more......

So I dont watch Indian shows. No not because I am a snob, I used to watch all Doordarshan shows. Just that my tolerance limit to bull shit is extremely low hence dont watch any shows post DD era. Watched only 1 Indian show & that too only for the hero. Now watching another which started out as a thriller but now neither here nor there. But then I digress...

The reason for gate crashing into your forum is slightly different. So there was a click bait article in IF which I unfortunately opened & literally fainted on reading the content. Thought I misunderstood & did some WIKIing & GOOGLEing about this show. I am sorry some of the stuff I read make me literally puke. While i understand tat this show is a TV version of a stupid bolly movie even in bollywood where the stupidity level is astronomical they showed the surrogate finally making a dignified exit & the childless couple getting a Happily Ever After. Then y is this show deviating from that plot.

You can ask me what business is it of mine to talk bt a show which I dont even watch. But dont u think we women should raise our voice against such nonsense be it reel or real. Yeah may be wasting energy on fictional shows & characters might b silly but dont they say that ART is a MIRROR of the society we live in. Which brings me to the next point. I ve been reading about many shows which were shut down in the past few weeks due to low TRPs. Can someone then explain to me how this shit is still managing to survive.

Does this mean Indian TV audience really like stuff like what is shown in this serial. Some of the updates I read on this very forum made me cringe. I was revolted by those stuff. Then who are these viewers who actually watch this kinda stuff. I dont think any guy will watch this crap. Anyway most of the soaps are watched by women. Then how can women actually like such plots. Seriously is this how Indian women think & feel. I am unable 2 digest this fact. I remember reading articles which said that the more the FL cries & is tortured more the TRPs. So r Indian TV audience esp the women sadistic that they like stories which make the FL suffer, get humiliated, ill treated, abused & what not

What kinda message are we trying to give via such shows.

My intention is not to hurt this show's fans or start any fan wars. I was genuinely curious about all the above points that I mentioned. Hence this post. Hoping to see a healthy discussion & want the show's fans to share their honest opinion.

The reason y I am asking this is why blame the PH & actors if we the public are actually watching such crap thus encouraging them to continue with this crapfest.

You are right about this show, but it isn't for logical people. It is for people who think women who can't have kids are worthless and they deserve all the pain in this world. It reduces women to child bearing machine, there is no career ambition no set respect, no dignity, nothing...
As a fan of internationally recognised shows like Game of Thrones, Homeland, Castle, The Good Wife etc, I feel these kind of Indian shows drag us Indian women centuries behind in the name of entertainment. All the international shows, be it Turkish, Korean, women are always strong and fighting for their rights, but here women are nothing but slaves. It's beyond disgusting.

THIS _/\_ I posted something similar on another thread as well. In India which is gng 2 bloody overtake China in population, infertility is a big deal. Jeezzz. Even I am a working mother. I had some difficulties but luckily conceived naturally. But I know countless women who suffer through painful IVF treatments. Yes I love being a mother. I cant imagine a life without my angel. Its been 8 yrs & I still remember the 1st time I held her in my hand. God its a divine feeling. BUT at the same time Indians should stop torturing women if they dont ve kids. You are right. We are not baby making machines. Appalled to c such a sensitive topic like Infertility, IVF, Surrogacy being handled in such a horrible manner.

It gives such a wrong message. All half baked ideas to a country where literacy level is still low. Its v dangerous. Instead of creating awareness these ppl r sending wrong message by making a surrogate as "THE OTHER WOMEN". DISGUSTING!

Just wondering. Suppose Surrogate # 1 dies or due 2 some reason she is unable 2 conceive will this loser family bring Surrogate # 2 for Surrogate # 1. And Biwi # 1 will do seva to both S1 & S2.

Hubby 1 = H1
Biwi 1 = B1
Surrogate 1 = S1
Surrogate 2 = S2
