I agree with some of the things you said. Fans do tend to take things too far, even going as far as to downgrade the person playing the character. I've seen people say things like jasmine flaunting her friendship with sid,and sid being a flirt and ect, in the past. Why does any of that matter, it's their life.
But Coming to the present. I haven't seen any backlash towards the the actress, just the characters. Yes the fan war should really stop, we shouldn't put someone down for liking a character , or supporting that character. We should welcome others opinion and show our support to the show and actors because they are doing a really good job playing their characters.

No more fan wars would be a good thing, but alas, I think it's unlikely to happen. Fan wars start because of intolerance, or should I say the inability of people to accept others point of view.
The identification with characters on a show is what drives TRPs, so in that sense it's essential for a shows survival. However what causes fan wars is when what is happening, or what could happen, is contrary to what another poster, or group, believes should happen to 'their' character/s, and takes it for an attack.

It's the strangest thing, but inferences are drawn, assumptions are made, and before you know it, posters are being targeted. What posters tend to forget is that the writers are given a brief by the producers, and told to make it happen. That is why all too often, characters do nonsensical things!
We as fans have absolutely no control over what happens in the show, nor do the actors who portray the characters. Getting het-up about someone's post 'don't change a thing'! If everyone could remember that it would prevent problems.
