Haven't the writers heard of 'stiff upper lips'! For two whole episodes Parth was bawling his eyes out! Enough already! I was saying to myself 'get a grip, man' as it was so overboard. I mean his family were calling his unborn baby 'filth' and instead of getting angry, he just cried some more! His grandpa was being so offensive, but did Parth take a stand? Not a bit of it.
The fear of being disowned (again) overrode everything. Even dear old Granpa telling the surrogate that she can abort the baby, not a problem!
It was so unreal that I was stupefied! No prospective parent would take such insults about their soon to be born child lightly.
Very strange!

@bold: that was cruel... Grandpa has also said that this kid will keep reminding him of the contamination... this last was the culmination of all of these insults not only to Teni but also to that unborn child... as for Parth, he's the victim of all of these conservative patriarchal family rules...

The fear of getting separated from the family overpowered self esteem. Parth calls his Dadaji as his jaan. Obviously he'll find difficult to survive without him. Same Parth considers his wife above all relationships. For him she is his world. Crux of the matter is Parth like people in general, wishes for best of both the world. But situation and time is not permitting him to possess both. Parth judiciously selects his immediate family and the surrogate. For he feels more responsible towards them as their lives are solely dependant upon him, and rightly so. Parth and his wife begged for forgiveness. They made endless plea for family support. Going all out in their effort to avoid disintegration, both Parth and Shourvari should not regret as they had initiated measures to convince the elders for accepting the heir through surrogacy . As regards his silence while bearing the insults can be, he kneeled down before his loved ones. Hence this shouldn't be termed as weakness in the character.

Taking stand doesn't only mean crossing Dadaji verbally.. Parth is a guy who is born and brought up in a conservative, joint family. He doesn't usually directly oppose anyone in the family or talk discourteously to them. But at the same time he never fails to support what he feels is right, through his actions. In this case also, he preferred to bear all their angst silently. Somewhere, he and Shorvori were also at fault in hiding the surrogacy and Shorvori's pregnancy thing from the family. But that didn't stop him from leaving the same family for his wife and baby's sake. If he couldn't stand for his baby, he would have let Teni go.. But he chose to leave the house and the family instead.
