Vrish, that's an awesome idea! He will look really really good as Mahishashur. And I'm confident he can pull off the role with ease as well. Maybe through this, we'll get to see how KVB's chemistry is like with Sonarika as well. 😆

You know, I've always wondered this, KVB was offered 5 shows in this channel. It made me wonder if Mahadev was ever one of them. 😆

Also, this is the perfect time as well. If he's offered the role then I can see him jumping at this opportunity. Yeah you're right. It might only be for a week, but it will still be remembered.

Do you mean a role in DkDM, or Mahadev's role itself? I really doubt he was offered Mahadev's role: that role Mohit has made his own, and he was even then a perfect fit for the job. The language is very different, and while KV can undoubtedly do a few episodes w/ it, making him do it on a sustained basis is a bit much. But assuming that that was overcome, had he been offered a permanent role, I think that he'd have been a good Indra. However, the current Indra is pretty good.

But yeah, I do think it would be a great cameo for him. Besides, during that battle, if they show it accurately, he'd be changing himself into different beasts, including a lion (just like Durga vahini), and I was trying to imagine each animal having a KV like profile, if you get what I mean. Of course, that would be a CGI driven thing, but if done well, it could be awesome to watch. Also, a lot of mainstream actors balk @ doing mytho roles, since they don't want to be typecast in that genre, but such a role would be a quasi cameo role, which as you say will be memorable, w/o creating an image of him as a mytho actor.

I have no idea what the plans are, but I certainly hope LifeOK runs this idea by Triangular Pictures.

I think KVB was too skinny to be even considered as Mahadev. And probably not tall enough either? I think Mohit Raina is taller, no? I suspect they probably looked at people with similar physiques as Mohit Raina from the start. So KVB then (and even now) certainly wouldn't fit that criteria.

@Vrish: I don't know. 😆 I'm not even sure if Mahadev is one of the shows he was offered, but there can be a possibility. I agree. I can't see anyone as Mahadev besides Mohit either.

KVB will be associated with a great show, even if it's for a little while. And like you said, it's the perfect role. Short-term, powerful, memorable - has everything going for it. But I'm not sure if the channel is even considering him. Has Parvati become Durga yet? I think she did in the ME, right? Before she became Kaali. Maybe if they are, they're waiting for him to leave this show first. I hope that's soon. 😆

He can do this and then move on to a new show. I would be so happy!

Yup, in the ME, she was both Durga & Kali. Of course, they botched that ME even worse than DsddSB botched their ME, since that battle has a written history, which they totally violated.

The thing w/ that serial is that they always keep you guessing as to what they'll do next. After the ME, they started running Kartikeya promos. So who knows how long that will take. But yeah, if they go beyond Navratri, that window of opportunity will be gone. As it is, that serial totally mucks w/ timelines, so if they simply made this story coincide w/ Navratri, it would be a big hit. And I guess they'd be wanting a good actor to play the role of one of the most famous demons in mythology.

Somehow, I've never thought of Mahadev's physique. It's more Mohit's demeanor that makes him so perfect for that role than anything else. It's one thing that annoyed DkDM fans when Mohit was considered just for fitness in one of the awards shows, as though the genre meant squat. Anyway, I digress...

But yeah, if they choose to go that route, there is a small window of opportunity, which would close really soon. Yeah, I too wish he does this, and then moves on to a new show - be it small screen or big screen. I'm less likely to watch it big screen

Yes I see the Kartikeya promos. Mahadev executes their promos beautifully!

If the Mahadev CVs read I-F like the DSDDSB CVs do (😆) then I hope they realize this and take a hold of him. Hahaha. It will be great to see him in such a role, very refreshing. And KVB looks good in a mustache as well! As we saw in his Mangal Pandey performance.

Yeah, if he doesn't get a really good movie offer, I prefer to watch him in shows too. He does fabulous there!

Honestly mainstream Bollywood, nothing interests me these days. Everything just bores me. Even the parallel film/hindie films that become more mainstream, even many of those don't interest me these days.

He's better off taking good smaller films and gettting critical acclaim. Much like Rajeev Khandelwal. However he shouldn't swear off television for films.

But at the same it's difficult to continue on in television while doing a few films as well, because the way television is set up now sucks. How I wish they would go back to non-daily serials (And I mean serials not procedurals). And they would have a consistent storyline and END at the right time.

From what I understand, DkDM CVs do seem to follow what IF says, which is why they have rules against aggressively beating up CVs, which we don't here (no, we never got that idea, in case you're wondering). I have no idea that DsddSB CVs are even aware of our existence.

In Mangal Pandey, we got a glimpse of KVB as a fighter. It would be fun to see him as a demon 😆 In case you or anybody follows me on DkDM forum, I happen to be that forum's biggest asura fan 😆 so there is nothing that excites me more than the asuras torturing the devas 😈 (Now, don't ask why am I not a Viraj fan in that case 🤣)

I'd like to see serials - like in the US - be seasonal. Run for 6 months, take a break for the next 6 w/ reruns, then next year, pick up, and end each season on a milestone. That way, it's always kept fresh. Of course, there, the reruns generally happen in summer, and the new season starts in Fall. We could define our TV seasons differently.

I too don't watch Bollywood, and it's only rarely that I watch a movie. The serials I sometimes watch, depending on how good. Usually, if one channel has a good show, I do stick around to see bits & pieces of their other shows.

But w/ KV, I think his challenge is to figure out whether he wants to be a big fish in a small pond or a small fish in a big one.

Vrish, I get sick of American shows too. 😆 Lost brought back the serial format (as in not procedurals), and look what happened. They too were just making shit out of thin air. They go on for 20 something episodes a season and then try to go on as long as they can.

When it comes to seasons I prefer the British series format, which also renew seasons or not renew depending on how well the show's received, but I just prefer it.

The other one is HBO and Showtime, the ones where they do end within five seasons (interstingly, many of them too seem to have a British connection 😆).

Then there's the other format used in Asian dramas or Pakistani dramas. Which is basically what I said, weekly or even dailies but ends within a certain period of time.

I don't know, it would be nice for some channels to experiment and try out other formats (or go back to older formats that used to be prominent Hindi television). Have some kind of variety.

Sony did try it with those YRF shows, but they didn't want to stick with it. They gave up too quickly.
