But Dev was never thought of as a negative character, and it was only on Tuesday that Krish said that he was bad, and unfortunately used the term 'gandha' to describe him (Raghav was right to upbraid him for talking like that about his father, given that what he had done wasn't evil). All people were curious about were things like

  • How did he die?
  • Was Raghav responsible for that, and if so, how?
  • How did Krish lose his voice?
  • Why does Komal seem supportive of Raghav, if he's held as being responsible for her hubby's death? Unusual sympathy for a woman to have for her devar.
So they answered all this. I don't know how many people really believed that Dev was as bad as Viraj. In fact, he was not even an incurable gambler - he gambled once, lost, borrowed cash, tried to get back the cash to return, and lost his life there. Not the type to keep throwing good money after bad.

And I don't blame him for not approaching his mother for help. That's something few males - particularly grown men - would want to do. And I'm glad that his reputation for managing the business smoothly wasn't shattered.

Yes, I felt gandha was misused. But I guess we can let that slide since Krish is a kid.

They answered all that, but I'm sure the audience thought it was going to be a better backstory than what they fed us. Something that totally shocked everyone - I doubt this gambling idea shocked many people.

Yeah, I've seen that done many times. Not approach their parents for help either to not worry them, fall on their eyes, or just because it's ego.

I don't think anyone thought he was AS bad as Viraj. No way, he would be anywhere close. But there was something there. Little hints that he may have had some demons and maybe issues here and there.

I mean, put it all together there are things that don't match up. Like for instance the fact that Krish blackened his father's face. I mean, ehhh? For this?

Plus it still leaves some questions about Raghav.

Wow. That is so earth-shattering. Dev was a gambler. Truly awesome stuff there. Some episodes were all about Raghav and the Singh's family's past. Turned out he was just a gambler.

I don't see how that makes him "bad" though.

Anyway, really glad their past is done and over with. Now we don't have to have that hanging over our heads.

Agree with you on Gayatri.

Vrish, agreed with your post.

@ Bold Mysticgory: I agree with all of the nuances of your post; the way you expressed disappointment with the revelation about Dev; a sarcastic repartee; and the sheer sense of relief that the drama is over and done with.

Ok, tonight, as per the convo b/w Krish & Komal, Dev did used to beat her, and she kept quiet about it. This I think Raghav too didn't know, or else, there's no way he'd have covered that up.
