One of the reasons the serial is dull to watch is that there is no saying when something is someone's dream, vs when something is for real. When they showed the chessboard on fire, that looked like a dream - chessboards - even furnished wooden chessboards - don't burn like someone has just poured lighter fluid on an inflammable surface. Just doesn't happen!
Normally, I hate it when Viraj spies on Jhanvi, but not this time. For the first time, he got to hear her side of the story unplugged - w/o any interruptions. It was funny watching the various expressions on his face. And incidentally, what's w/ this anti 'thank you' business in not just this, but every other 2nd grade Hindi serial? 'Thank you' is just a statement of appreciation, nothing more, nothing less. The way everybody reacts when they're told 'Thank you' - it's like somebody removed their own kidney and tried inserting it into the other person. A completely gawaresque reaction! 🤢
But I liked it when Raghav told Viraj that he had thanked him for saving his life, and didn't owe him any answers about his personal life! Way to go!!!
On Sia's (finally) opening up to Gayatri, while it seemed fair of Sia to zip Viraj's past, Gayatri (who for the first time made me like her) said something very insightful. She pointed out to Sia that if she doesn't report her husband, he'd be at liberty to repeat his past behavior w/ Sia wrt other women, something that's totally unacceptable. In fact, in this episode, it seemed that Gayatri - a prosperous, middle aged widow who's probably never been abused and has presumably always bossed over everybody - is more empathetic to a woman's condition than Jhanvi is. Indeed, Jhanvi is a disgrace, even in contrast to this hitherto mortician-like lady.
Somehow, unlike other people, I enjoy Viraj's alter ego urging him to remain evil, so that the question of his reforming doesn't exist. Only thing - I want to see the alter ego's face when Jhanvi finally trumps Viraj - that should be a sight to watch.
