@Bold:I completely agree with you on these lines..I remember his mother mentioning once that he was a purely normal child and was very cute but then his father took him away and he returned as a changed person..so I'm guessing Viraaj is deeply affected there and that too in a bad way..Everytime his father was mentioned, his way showed some emotions of sadness and hurt..even I want to know what circumstances changed him? What happened to that innocent child?
what i find dominant in Viraaj is the need for control and dominance(control and dominance is his disorder)..Also I think his father had OCPD too(OCPD is generally inherited and can occur when a child is severly punished)..I want to know what took away his innocence..
You're right he is aware of his actions but he refuses to accept it's his fault or he is wrong( that part I think is OCPD..)
Also one thing viraaj truly believes in is that if a person fears him then it means they love him,he said so himself..could his father have taught him to be like that?Because one more dominant characterstic of Viraaj's personality is that he disrespects all women and he says they need to be controlled..he always uses it in general sense as in for all womenkind..it surely has something to do with his father..😕

Even this father did to him, I have to say it doesn't justify him or gain him any sympathy simply because he KNOWS he is wrong and that doesn't stop him. Whatever pain he blocks from those days doesn't stop him. But, safe to say, his father has had a huge role in moulding Viraj into what he is today. Sometimes I feel that as a kid he may have been overly sensitive and overly emotional and his father basically showed him that that is his biggest weakness by giving him all that pain and since he watched his family fall apart. As a result, I think he just turned it all off - all sense of emotions and righteousness gone like that because it hurts too much.

@petrova fire: Yeah,it doesn't justify his actions, don't get me wrong. I see him as a man who needs treatment (not as a husband or son.. sort of and from that pov I think he badly needs treatment. I don't know if he was overly emotional or not but I do know that an abusive childhood can change the whole personality of a child and they sometimes do have mental disorders( i don't think he was overly emotional because his mom said he was normal until his father took him away)..not much research has been done on OCPD as most doctors treat it like OCD but OCPD is much more severe because even if the patient knows he is wrong he will always deny it because it's always the other person's fault..Because of his abusive childhood and his unhealthy environment,is it possible that he developed certain undesirable characteristics and morals and habits which he took to his adulthood? (He saw his father beating his mother )..Also I agree actors who play a character make a certain impact on the mind of the viewers..
I read one of KV's earlier interviews and he said Viraaj went through a deprived childhood..Also,Dr K said he was superficial always, always acting "perfectly"...
I'm not justifying his actions but'I'm really curious to find out if it's possible that if a child goes through trauma in his early years, the years in which you shape your whole personality and belief system if that's attacked wrongly is it possible that as a coping system to that severe depression or to avoid feeling as you put.. do these children grow up to be like Viraaj?
Because I don't think anybody is born evil,it's the circumstances when one is vulnerable and weak and especially at such a tender age where you are supposed to be unaware of the dark side of the world or even the grey side of the world,i don't find it impossible that any person could turn into what Viraaj is today..
And I really hope cvs move his story forward..
P.S Since this is also a serial,I think cvs have always focussed on domestic violence which is good but at the same time they have always shown Viraaj as a man with a disorder so they were not only obligated to women dealing with Domestic violence but also towards a small section of the society suffering from such disorder. The general public is getting an impression that "f anybody has OCPD ,they will be dark, evil and violent" when every patient has a different case.Again not justifying Viraaj, there's no doubt what he did was wrong.

Thank you for putting it in words so perfectly 👏

That's exactly what I have been trying to say but on one hand, I fear that I may come across as someone who just labels Viraj as evil for no reason or as someone who thinks his actions can be justified when neither is the case. I know circumstances have made him who he is and even though his actions are unforgivable, I am still curious to know what those circumstances were. That, right there, is my fascination with Viraj.

Agreed. Sometimes I feel maybe they've introduced more than what they can handle. With Raghav in as well now, they need to do justice to the revelation of his past as well when they haven't already wrapped up on Viraj just yet.

@petrova-fire:Believe me I understand what you want to say, that is exactly what I've been trying to say from day 1 of this serial but either I'm mistaken for someone who justifies V or someone who thinks he is evil(I myself have gotten confused many times as to which one it is because I'm always given these two options to choose from😆because this character is so fascinating and on top of KVB plays it with such perfection👍🏼)
Thank you..it took me 4 months to get those words straight😆

Your post reminds me of a saying
"The person who is heartless now, once cared too much"

If V was any plain normal villian then wouldnt even seen this show as they showed TOO MUCH of torture. Want to the SAME FEAR in V s eyes which he inflicted on J. This can only happen if cvs through proper light on past life especially his childhood as read somewhere that V had ABUSIVE childhood BUT this does NOT give license to torture others. Even story writer tweeted that V had a complex past and his ocpd will be covered fully. But one is for sure IF they show him as child victim then viewrs will CERTAINLY have SYMPATHY for him and Jaanvi can also MELT after hearing his past and a TSUNAMI will raise every where😆
