When a loved passes away, it is always difficult to tell when you are 'ok' again. People expect that after 1-2 years you have had enough time to grieve and heal, and pick up your life again. When you lose your parent, it is of course very difficult to handle that lose., especially depending on your age and life phase, if death was caused by sickness or sudden death. When it is your partner whom you have loved so deeply, it is perhaps harder than losing your parents. You lose your best friend in life.
The reason why I bring this up is because of Anant. I am trying to understand the early marriage proposal. I think he has felt a loneliness ever since his wife died. He has never allowed himself to open up to anybody, certainly not females. His children were his only concern. He would never love and be loved in that way again.
His nightly meetings with Ahana have something intimate. Two souls, in the middle of the night, alone, connecting.. Speaking about love, loss, understanding and what is important in life. As we all know, sometimes we meet people, like angels, to help us get through our pain. That connection makes it feel as if you have known each other for a long time.
After Roshni's accident, Ahana sent a gift.. The music book.. How thoughtful, sweet and selfless.. She thought of his daughter.. Because of their meetings and conversations he feels even more connected, understood. She is attractive, makes him feel young AND she is taking an interest in his kids.. She is perfect to him! It is the first time he has allowed himself to think of a woman in his life again. And if you really want something to happen, you often see signs everywhere that you are making the correct choice or... You know you have to act quickly and take a leap of faith before another young dashing man steals her away.
This is the only reason I can come up with now for AM.
Rehaan... I think, in Ahana he finally has found a girl who keeps him interested, intrigued. She doesn't drool over him, follows him around or hold expectations over him. In fact, she has no expectations of him, which attracts him even more. Finally, a girl he has to chase and make efforts for. And I think he would have done that (or he will) but AM was to quick for him. Ever since he found out about the engagement, he stepped back out of respect for Anant.
