My 2 cents on these characters
VP: I honestly don't think this person had any contribution in Ritwik's bio mom leaving them. He is an honest, ethical person who wanted to do something in life but ethically and honestly. He is an emotional fool, his son is his heart, he is madly madly worried about his son's well being because he is absolutely convinced that Palak is just like Geetha and will break Ricky's heart and that he will die of heartbreak. In his dread and emotional stress, he might not be able to see and judge situations, people and incidents objectively and logically, hence not able to see through Rishab's dirty games. He has no reason to mistrust Rishabh, Rishab had been so far able to present his side very well and he is effectively using VPs trust issues and his great love for his son against him.
Geetha: Clearly, this woman is an fiercely ambitious female , ruthless and unethical in her methods. She just achieves what she wants by hook or crook. ( cue: the ration shop scene, where she had no qualms lying that her son is sick to break the queue). She is clearly devoid of any emotions other than anger n sense of conquering and considers emotional people weak fools. She expected VP to achieve something in life when she married him that too at her pace. Clearly, VP could not meet her fiercly ambitious plans,her pace , methods and frequency. So she considered him a loser. she left them for greener pastures and to focus on greater ambitions. I don't think she ever cared for her son / husband. Not then not now. She is back because she cannot digest that the man whom she threw away as a loser built an empire and is living a beautiful life with a beautiful family. And his biggest strength is his beautiful understanding wife. Geetha, when she left them would have expected them to remain broken for the rest of their life and she can gloat in her success and the thought that she is justified. But since that didn't happen, she was keeping an eye on VPs life and was lying in wait for a long time for the right opportunity to strike. She is very cunning, ruthless and unethical. Her intentions can never be good.
Vikrant: whether this guy is Ricky's half brother or full brother or no brother, one thing is clear - he is in total awe of his mother. He clearly loves and respects his mom dearly. Calls her Big Daddy as in the strongest... supports her in whatever she wants to do. Clearly, he is like a puppet in her hand now. We don't know what stories she had been telling him. He seems to be sorted. I feel this character, even if villain now, seems to be redeemable.. may be once he understands the true story behind everything and understands true colours of his big daddy' and once he starts understanding the concept of honesty, ethics and sacrifice, he will change. Probably become Rithwik s good brother later
