I firmly believe that no one person can outshine anyone in a love story - its always the combination that wins.
Any love story that has gained immense traction and momentum in the past is always the work of two people with equal contribution. Chemistry is not something that can be created single-handed - either the pair has it or they don't. And if the chemistry exists its because of the combination.
A classic example would be the IPK (Season 1) story . There was a huge divided fandom of Arnav vs Khushi and Barun vs Sanaya, and of course some sensible ones made themselves "Sarun" fans. That forum would have fights practically every day about which actor was better and which character was better. But when you take one part of the combo away (e.g., IPK3 ) it does not work similarly.
Another classic example is the Karan- Kritika duo - KMH got a KMH 2 only because people wanted to see both of them together. Neither Karan nor Kritika could have created that KMH chemistry solely on their individual merit ... and it was so strong that till date they are married in the minds of fans.
My point is this: Female hormones will always rage for the male lead and male hormones will rage for the female lead. That is the work of biology ... and one should not even get in between that love 😃
But when it comes to crediting actors for the success of the story that you are watching, the chemistry works only if both actors are equally strong in performance, not one better vs the other - otherwise the lack of chemistry easily gets caught on camera
Net net: For the purpose of DHTH, I don't find either Yogita or Kundrra better than the other - both of them are equally good and its their togetherness that works. Otherwise there is no way the story would touch our souls so much and in such a short span of time.
