I think he does realizes that if he chose Palak, he is going to hurt Ananya, his family. Puris as well as RoSe. He also knows that if he backs out from this marriage, RoSe wedding will not take place. So, he is currently choosing his mind over heart.

That does not mean that he has to hurt her intentionally...he is being a hypocrite today... he was telling Ananya ( thinking that it's Ananya in the washroom) that the kiss didn't matter to him at all...he knew that Palak wud hav heard it...when Palak said the same thing, he could not digest it...what was he expecting..ki voh ro kar uske pav padegi.. Mujhe lag raha hai Ki us ki ego hurt ho gayi..the great Rithwik Noon breaks hearts and leaves people ...not the other way na...he is feeling irritated with himself for having feelings for her ...so he decided to break her heart by being close to Ananya... I think he knows very well that Palak ko fark padta hai...nahi to phir Ananya se close hokar Jalane ki kya zarurat hai ...poor Palak ...sooo much hurt...how can he do this to her ... I felt like crying after watching her today
