I legit thought mujhe Roza Delusions horahe the! I mean..that did not just happen, did it? It did? It actually happened? So it means we are not in some collective dream? What happened was actually the truth.
Because I cried.
Andar se, deep down..I cried. I cried at how soft and tender and lovely the scene was. The simple joys of healthy communication :') The entire scene was just so SIMPLE. But so profound. There was no loud BG music, no OTT expressions, no sneaky remarks, no trying to prove a point. It started with a simple thank you and a veiled sorry. And it just was just them talking about the situation. Talking in the way they haven't talked before. He wasn't interrogating her, he was genuinely curious about where she had gone. There were no accusations hurled at her from his side. No stuttering explanations that fall on deaf ears from his side. Not a lot, not entirely, but there was a shade of friendliness there in his tone as well.
These two, they say a lot but there's no active communication. Because he isn't interested in what she has to say. And she has gotten tired of saying the same thing again and again. But this was the first time they actually TALKED. They actually discussed where do they stand. She told him that she's indebted to him for saving her life and for taking care of her mother and for that she can happily died for his family. She told him she didn't leave before because she is so connected to the other Oberoi bahu that she couldn't dare be the reason the other girl's dreams of having proper wedding rituals remain unfulfilled. And Omkara? He just listened. He listened to her as she spoke. He listened to her but didn't twist her words like he always did. He listened to her without any preconceived notions. He listened to her with every intention of knowing what was going on straight from her mouth, without mingling any of his assumptions beforehand.
Do you see what these words mean?! What these words actually mean?! Omkara Singh Oberoi. The man who has NEVER, not once, ever since he met Gauri Kumari Sharma, been interested in what she has to say because to him what he see is the absolute truth...THAT MAN was actually ASKING Gauri to make HIM understand. He was asking her for an explanation because he genuinely had no idea what to make of this situation. She was gone and then she came back. Why? He could've inferred his own conclusion like always. He could've said, "Ye tumhara naya natak hoga.." like he has been saying to her for all these days. But he didn't. Is it the old Omkara they all talk about? The one who stops and assesses and sees from all angles before drawing a conclusion? Because he wanted to know, really know, what was her side of the story.
And her explanation? It was so..dil se. It stemmed from the foundation of Vishwas that is the basis of all her life. She told him she has a strong Chatti Indri (excoos me but i became fanna at the way Gauri tried to say 'sense' there. Look at my girl..already being all Oberoi-ish by speaking in English terms T_T) that stopped her from leaving. Because she gets premonitions when someone she cares for is in trouble. She so indirectly told him that she feels so strongly connected to Omkara that she sensed he was in trouble before he actually was. And Omkara just couldn't say anything. How do you reply to a honest explanation like that? AND SHE SAW IT!! Her fast moving tongue just stopped when she saw his expression. The most affected and vulnerable expressions that he doesn't show to anyone, not anymore. And it overwhelmed her. It overwhelmed her to the extent that she could no longer look at him and things just because so awkward but in the most beautiful way so she just..walked away. Without another word. She bared a part of her soul to him only to see that his entire existence was all eyes, all ears, all understanding for her. And it's too much, too much for someone who feels so unwelcomed in his life to bear...
The writing, the direction, the acting...everything was so TOP notch in this scene. Is this not what we've been asking for for WEEKS?! THANK YOU SO MUCH CVS FOR THIS SCENE!! Please, please, PLEASE don't get amnesia now. HOW DO YOU GO BACK TO BEING UNAFFECTED AFTER THIS?! How can Omkara revert back to being completely cold towards Gauri after the way this scene played out? He can't. HE SHOULDN'T!! Allah Allah karke we have reached this stage. Don't ruin it. But till then..let me watch the scene again and die all over again because it was just so beautiful..
