*CHAPTER 5*
"Doesn't matter"
She cynically answered ,her tone laced with bitterness.
"I expected some rash words"
There was an underlying amused current in his voice which irritated her to there core.She wasn't here for his amusement.Does he have any regrets? Questions began filling her mind.While he was rather astound to see her so calm and composed,she would have spewed curse words at him if this happened back then.He even imagined some words they were likely to be spat out at have but receiving a cold and calm response heightened his desire to make her old -soumya again.
"Why? Because of the past that perhaps plays no role in present. That Past is long forgotten"
Her words wounded him deep like swords.He wasn't the only one hung upon the past,she was too caught up in it but her mouth said otherwise.
"Still can't lie.I see"
His soft tone was barely audible as if he was saying this to himself rather than her.Her jet black orbs stared into his bottomless pits as he made the earlier statement.He was deliberately bringing up the past.Is it that easy for him.Her mind wondered.
He quickly caught onto her irritation that was starting to show on her face.She has her feet in different boats ,on one hand she wants him to let go off the past while she still held onto that thread which was giving her constant pain.
"If you're done,then head out of my bunk.I'd like to call it a night"
The walls around her were up again,closing off the connection that her eyes were trying to make.The formal tone that she just used was suffocating him.
He backed off a bit giving her enough space to shut the door.Words were long forgotten.She shut the door without giving him a chance to reply not that he had any reply.
"I won't make the same mistake again"
He barely murmered ,the sadness evident in his deep voice.

In the grey sky of early dawn where the star still glowed,as the happy memories light up a life that is nearing its close.The situation was quite ironical for Soumya.She has always been a admirer for those little tiny dots which lights up the sky giving a shelter to the traveller.The fast wind slammed against her face repeatedly making her hair scattered and the groovy slops.Driving in the rough terrains and extreme weather like this gave her a thrill,adrenalin pumped into her as she neared her destination.The beauty of the journey lies in the nature that it is presenting.This place could be compared to heaven with sea and scenery like this if there were not so many wars happening around.
Killing the engine ,she stopped in front of a modest cottage.Entering the passcode ,she went inside.
"What are you doing here ?"
A familiar voice ringed in her ears.
"Why am I being deployed here? I know Omkara is behind all this"
She got straight on the point.Beating the bush around would do no good.She had an idea that it could be Omkara's task force mission so she was urgently deployed here.
"Ahh well.You already know.There will 4 other people apart from you in this team.Getting deployed here is just a cover for our mission though General was against the idea of sending you here"
The other person explained carefully leaving out a few details.
" A team? That's new.Usually he sends us as duo or solo.Who are the other members?"
The curious charge in her voice was evident.Omkara was always strict about the secrecy of their little organization ,even the members didn't knew about other members.It was all done to reduce the destruction if someone betrays them.She purposely left out the point he made about General.
"He says he trusts all the 5 of us more than others.Sorry ,can't tell you names,agency rules.You must know them after you meet"
He spoke and a dejected look evenly spread out on her face.
"But since you are my favourite.I tell you I am also in this team"
"Arghh .I can sense trouble.Arjun is upto no good"
She mused in,slightly teasing him.She had known him a little more than 4 years ,since she was recruited into the agency by Omkara,he had always been a help to her.
"By the way, how did Omkara started this agency and all"
It was true ,the world knows Omkara Singh Oberoi as an artist or maybe a military dropout but there are only a few who knows about the real business he does.
" He didn't tell you.I though you two were close"
Arjun snickered.
"He thinks i am still a child.He still says he is my guardian"
She muttered lowly.
"You don't need a guardian"
He deadpaned.The look she was giving him was enough to make him realize that time to dodge around is over,tell the real deal.
"Well ,me and him were in the army when the scandals began inside the military.There were few insiders who stated helping smugglers.Since we weren't on the high rankings we couldn't do anything and those who had the power didn't had the evidence.So we decided to dropout of the army ,the atmosphere there became too polluted and corrupted.But our commander at that time had another idea,he organized funds and trusted ,loyal people and told us to do something worthy from it.He is now General in the army and only he and President know about this agency"
Arjun poured a that he knew
"That's pretty much it.Mine and O's love story"

"Have you seen Soumya"
Rudra questioned as he roamed to know her whereabouts.
"I think she went to next town for inspection of any refugees"
It was Romi who spoke out of all the people.Ranveer quickly casted a look towards Rudra which he was already mirroring.
"I am coming with you"
Ranveer urgently said noticing Rudra walking towards the car.
"No .Stay here.One of us has to be here"

"Did you came here all alone"
Arjun questioned as Soumya prepared to leave.
"Yeah.Why?"
"Wait I'll drop you.Don't ever come here alone.This town is infested with local gangs.They are dangerous"
"Did you perhaps forget that I too have a gun.I can handle that"
She sharply said.She didn't like the idea of anyone underestimating her capabilities.
" No matter what you do.You can't win them alone.They are the people with no morals"
Arjun's voice turned soft and soothing sensing her distressed mood.
"And morals makes us weak.Then why don't we sell out our morals"
She fired back at him.It was a constant argumentative topic.The gangs always have an advantage over them.Morals.
"Morals just set a limit for us ,they don't necessarily makes us weak.Besides Don't we have Morals darker than others"
She sensed a finality in his voice,which definitely meant put this topic on backseat.
" Anyways come one let me drop you to the field"
"I'll be fine own my own"
She was used to fighting her battles on her own,anyone meddling with her battles was a huge no no for her.
"Wait .I see a Military car"
Arjun sighed in relief as he saw car.Leaving her alone would be dangerous.
"What he is doing here?"
Soumya thought out loud as she saw Rudra coming out of the car,she didn't failed to notice the subtle nod Rudra and Arjun gave each other.
"Are you really that stupid to come here all alone"
His stiff voice tinged with worry shook her out of the lingering thoughts.His face was filled with distress with a streak of anger.
"Speak with respect"
She sneered at him.He had no right to be angry at her.She was used to everyone being afraid to her that Rudra's lack of respect angered her.
"Ahh these childish tactics"
His words were sharp and unusually strong.He was tired of her short apathetic responses.Couldn't she understand his worry for her.
"Its you,who is acting childishly"
Her eyes blazed at him.She was a bit stunned to hear his sharp tone.Earlier He had been acting like a lover-sick broken soul and now he is back on his ways.
"Shut up.I am the incharge of the field So report to me before anywhere.Got it"
He dragged out the last words shoeing a bit arrogance and hard tone.He finally came onto the decision that feeling sorry for her would only mean to chase her away.
"Ahh love is in the air"
Arjun's amused tone caused both of them to look at him. He was being subjected to the harshest glare known to the mankind.
"Do you want to die"
She darkly muttered as if really thinking of murdering him.Her eyes casted a demonic look at him with a evil smile.
"Taker her before she really kills me"
Arjun murmered to Rudra and hurriedly went inside the cottage,closing door at them.Rudra tilted his eyes towards her only to see her staring back at her.She was partially glaring at him,her hands were crossed up.
"What about my jeep?"
She posed another excuse
"I'll send someone to take care of it"
He countered back, while she was still stading like a statue with hands crossed and glaring down at him.
"Quit those antics and get in the car"
He ordered and got inside the car.He didn't wait for her but revved the car and casted an eyebrow at her.This was the only way to talk to her.
"Just because Arjun said"
She shouted at him in annoyance,she could see the lingering smile on Rudra's face.Getting inside the car she slammed the door with much more force than necessary.
"Don't hurt my car.It has nothing to do with your anger"
Rudra's muttered.
"How do you know Arjun"
He posed the question that was lingering in his mind.
"I could ask the same"a
She titled her pointed gaze towards him.
"He is O's friend"
Rudra quietly muttered.He looked at her while driving so as to see her expressions.
"My reasons are none of your business"
She whiskly said.
" You are still hung upon the past while asking me to act professional"
Rudra strongly acted on the subject.Just yesterday she preached about forgetting past and now she is acting bitter towards him
"Make a choice"
"Roll down the windows"
Her voice didn't have a tinge of plea but it was rather cracky and sullen.
"Its too cold outside"
Rudra reasoned and put a child lock in case she tried to roll down window just to evoke him.
"Just Roll it down"
Her breathing became ragged as she tried to speak, her throat seemed to be closing off by an unknown force.She tried breathing at a normal pace but her lungs were giving out.
Rudra hurriedly rolled down her window seeing her distressed state
"You fine?"
His tone had a urgency lying beneath the surface of worry.Soumya was never like this infact she liked roll up windows so they don't disturb her hair.
"Hmm"
She barely spoke,catching her breath,taking a huge puff of air inside.She was rather relieved that he didn't ask what happened.
"I don't necessarily like the idea of being trapped in a car"
"I never asked"
Rudra was rather astound to see her talking normally without that choleric glint
"That's why I said"
She spoke ,never looking at him.Her gaze fell on everything and anything except Rudra.
"I am being professional"
His lips curled around the edges,a faint ghostly smile appeared on his face.
