I know I know, I told you guys, this will be mostly absurd...But todays Omie/Teju scene demands an in depth look...by in depth I mean, maybe a few serious sentence 😉😆
So I liked how the writers have set up the Om Vs Tej field. Om and Tej are extremely intense personalities.
Tej, in my opinion, is a man with narcisstic tendencies...he seems like, he makes everything in life about himself. Marrying Jhanvi by eloping with her, wasnt because he truly loved Jhanvi, it was about proving to the world that Tej can beat his amazing friend at any thing...Jhanvi and his family is not people to him...they are accomplishments to him. Jhanvi is his trophy wife, he used her to build a business, he used her prowess to build his own ego. Used her to have children with Pedigree. and When she sank into depression and used alcohol, he used her pain and addiction as bringing a younger, prettier woman into his life. He uses his children to further his business venture or social standing. O mkara, in one go has taken away Tej's ability to be the center of his little universe... by shaking up the Svetlana piece. He is the only one who actually Tej's ego against him...Tej has such a huge Ego that he would never admit that he is betrayed and hurt by Svetlana's cold backstabbing attitude...He was infact just using Svetlana for his purposes...Instead he doesnt even acknowledge it...Its Omkara's crime of Flaunting Tej's Mistress in his face thats rubbing him raw. Thats why he is doing things to hurt Omkara and by default Jhanvi and Rudy (and Prinku, if she ever gets any screenspace) .
Om, on the otherhand, is the Anti-thesis to Tej...I never thought he was weak or a coward...to me has always been a Rebel against Tej...our Omie darling is quiet the ball of contradiction 😆 very complex he is...I never perceived Om as someone who is self righteous sach ka pujari...I always thought that his character is shaped by the simple fact of the experiences surrounding him...he is an antithesis to Tej (daddy issues)...he is going to contradict and going to go against anything Tej...if Tej is a smart, ruthless businessman...then Omkara will be the sensitive artist...if Tej is going to step out in his marriage, then Omkara will be a one woman(Ridhimma) man...if Tej is going to protect his wealth, and family by any means...Then Omkara will always choose the righteous path...if Tej is going to use any means to succeed then Omkara will be Sach ka boyfriend.
and when he is in a glass case of emotions...and things are piling on him, where being anti thesis to Tej doesn't work...he is going to revert to what he has learned from his siblings...be ruthless like Shivaay, Shove things under carpet like Rudra, Don't get involved in things that doesn't directly concern them like Priyanka.
On the Otherhand, he would like to believe that he is self righteous and always truthful...because that's what he wants to be for the people he loves. He would like to never lie to his mother and siblings, who have all been lied to, numerous times by Tej. He would like to never lie to Shivaay, because that brother has always kept him going and afloat. He portrays an image that he wants to be like, but the truth pretty far from his reality.
Today, his rage and his clash and reaction to Tej highlighted this really well...He is a reactive personality, happy to be in his own space. Unless you are Tej then he is going to bring it home and do his Roka (just to show up Tej) at 3 in the morning 😆
