hola DBO-ians😃
When DBO was 1st announced I was more than looking forward to watch this one, 'cause Omkara was one of the few characters who on Indian television who intrigued me , the only other one being Maya Malhotra,
Omkara was this complex character who was on the verge of falling into a dark pit from which there's no looking back, yet with his brothers on his side,he always managed to stay afloat and be a voice of reason, plagued with guilt yet trying hard to balance out the overall sanity of O Bros.
He was the only logical character in Gul's illogical aesthetically pleasing world of Oberoi Mansion!!
Fast forward it to present and you get a heartless, badass Omkara who just doesn't care about literally anything except his failed suicide attempted mother who keeps reminding him that infidelity is the greatest sin anyone can commit !!
Also gone is the innocent Rudra baby who would lighten up everyone's mood by cracking you up when you least expect to,and welcome Rudra who's still confused whether he wants to acknowledge his 'drunk marriage' wife in public or not!!
Welcome to the world of Dil bole Oberoi where the other 2 O-bros take a leaf from their Big Bro Shivaay's life and just forget about their passion for art, or being gymaholics but remember to look and act Badass 'cause Shivaay does it all the time and gets away with it so why can't they,right?
As much I love this swagilicious Kunal Jaisingh reminding me of a maybe older version of RV, my heart cries for the Omkara I 1st fell in love with, the mysterious one with a heart of gold !!
or the cute , innocent Rudra, you just wanted to pull cheeks of!
Now that they have their own show to carry , lets turn them into badass guys who don't give a damn abt their female leads but come to their last minute rescue so to remind us that they are indeed the heros of the show!! All hail Omkara and Rudra saving the day!!
coming to the female leads, ofcourse in Gul's world ,female leads go through a lot of pain and humiliation not only from the villains but also main leads and despite of all that they endure they await for the Hero to come and rescue them!!
And then there's the actual villain, okay one thing about DBO which is really different and good for a change is the choice of the main Antagonist!!
have you been in the situation where you know you should be rooting for Batman but can't help but admire Joker for being the ultimate badass villain ?
yaa thats what Rahul Dev's character Kaali Thaakur does to me, I just can't help but love to hate him.
He's got that aura that oozes negativity, sending you goosebumps and making you sit up and see what 's clicking in his mind now?
Coming to Gul's favorite tool to a successful show ,Aesthetics , the aesthetic aspect of this show is just sooo perfect that it unintentionally makes a potentially intense seen funny, I mean are you telling me that you just get away with a potential suicide in the form of fire and yet be okay to see the face pretty much intact or rather untouched not once but twice??
or a struggling girl running for her life getting hit by almost the entire village, yet looking as good and beautiful as ever 'cause they if we distort her face too much where's the aesthetic aspect to it?
Coming to Gauri Sarma, I must admit I really liked her character in the 1st 2 epis, standing up for herself and giving a piece of her mind to our Omkara Version 2, the one I refuse to acknowledge as the OM I fell in love with ,so no I wont call u Om, you are Omkara 2.0 for me, until you show me atleast a glimpse of Om I watched Ishqbaaz for!!
that's what I hate about Gul, she gives a potential plot, intriguing characters, gives you hope for a better show and then just pulls that piece of Earth you'd been standing right underneath your feet, all that you're left with is what could have been, and your heart still keeps telling you yo not lose hope to the point of frustration
give me an Om vs Kaali Thaakur tashan and I am all yours
give me a complicated GauriKara love story and an innocent Rumya love story and I am all yours
but this!! isn't what I signed for!!
The biggest plus point of this show is BOTH the Protagonists and antagonists are brilliant actors!!
and if not the plot at least there acting skills will keep the audience entertained and of course the aesthetics!!
