I do not have an issue with Saumya turning grey. In fact I would have very much liked that. Its not about being the ML or the FL...My problem would be the inconsistency and the lack of logic that would go with making her a grey.
This was pretty much the same complaint I had with the NBs. There were way too many loopholes with them turning out to be sisters avenging their dad's death. It was very obvious that this was a sudden and almost overnight decision, going against most things shown about them already. I am also equally disappointed about Om's character change so no comments on that.

If they had actually planned Saumya being grey all along and execute it sensibly with sound reasoning, hell, bring it on. But that is clearly not the case here. And I'd hate to see Saumya being ruined because of that. As it is, they never handled RumYa properly and never showed the whole "fit guy falling for the overweight girl" concept promised. I disliked the silly Romi track so much. God knows what they would do now. Plus, if Soumya also came back to 'avenge her father's death' that would pretty much put her in the same boat as the NBs.

Still, I really hope if they do decide to turn Soumya grey, they give it a proper foundation. If done well, it would turn out to be amazing. And boy would I love to watch it.

It's because there's no logical reason of why Soumya can become grey or negative. If she ends up being negative it's SURELY going to be because of some f**ked up convoluted reason of her out here for REVENGE. That's basic bullshit. It's one thing to make a trio out of Svetlana, Romi, and Tia and make them Nafratbaaz. But pulling something like, "oooh Soumya was also a part of this" just makes no narrative sense.

Will I mind a Soumya who is tougher? OF COURSE NOT. A Soumya who has said enough is enough to Rudra's non-serious ways is welcome. A Soumya who practically shows Rudra's the middle finger would be amazing. Because that's something that is within the scope of her character. In the beginning she didn't like Rudra, it's not weird to think she'd revert back to those feelings after seeing how he refuses to take them and their relationship seriously. But she doesn't have to turn into a negative villain to do that. Comparing her to Shivaay and Omkara is wrong. Because these characters are wired differently. Omkara always had the potential of being cold and had streaks of aggressiveness to him. Plus the reason he turned like this have been explained. They are a stretch but they at least make narrative sense. Soumya turning around like that will make no sense? Soumya doesn't have to lose her relationship with the rest of the Oberois to be a tough character.

She doesn't have to turn negative to become interesting or to spice the RuMya love story. Because already they are interesting enough! What Soumya and RuMya need is proper FOCUS and development like they DESERVE to get. No need to effin' change a character's entire basic structure to give them that. Just some sincerity from the makers would be enough.

There was some unknown member who found Saumya fishy from a long time. I want Saumya to be one woman army like Haider not with NB at all. Recently I don't remember but somewhat thought that Saumya meeting Rudra at the hospital can be start of the plan progressing to entering his house. Also, till now we are not shown that with whom she talks on phone calling her as her aai. Also if Ryan is really her bf or someone else. Many things can be joined to make her story interesting.

I don't mind Saumya turning grey provided they execute the reasoning properly like they did for Om. If they handle it well, it'll make Rumya story interesting. But definitely don't want Saumya to end up as a Kapoor sister... that would make no sense.
