Is choreography more important than dance skills ?

What do yo think is most important ? I notice sometimes the contestants are not able to showcase their talents.

I think both are equally important! Without adequate dancing ability, dancers cant pull off difficult choreography. However some amazing dancers dont get tough enough choreography even though they are able which can hurt them in such a competitive competition.

All 4 P's are equally important

Product - the actual dancing skill
Price - that it is a valuable skill that can be efficiently extracted, does not require too much head breaking and training, not too cheap and given easily
Place - Sets and usage of it
Promotion - the choreography that presents and sells the rest of it

Yes true.

I think its am amalgam of all... sometimes a good choreography can make an okay dancer really look really good, then there is time when an awesome dancer puts his heart out in a okay choreographed song and make it special...so choreography, dancing ability, expressions, flexibility, choice of music, mood created, concept and theme, costume, chemistry biology geography all make a good performance....

I think if the participants are very versatile it would not be a problem but them how do we get so many versatile dancers.

Both are equally important. If you don't have skilled dancers to execute your choreography then you won't be able to convey what you want to and that's true other way also. However good dancer you are if you don't have good and fresh choreography complemeting your dancing skills then you won't be able to impress. If you do same steps again and again then it will be repetitive so you need fresh ideas and a choreographer with innovative concepts.

I think both are important, as they have a correlation to each other. With no good choreography, dancing skills will go waste, and without good dancing skills, a good choreography will look quite weak! Rather than the concept, choice of song and apt steps and transitions are more relevant for the choreography. It looks bad any time if one of the partners has to stand doing nothing even if only for a few seconds...
