Meet Princess Gauri--indya.com

Television actress Sheetal Dabholkar, last seen in STAR Plus' Behenein as Dr. Devika Mathur, and in the historical show Pritiviraj Chouhan as Princess Sayogita, will now play the role of Princess Gauri in STAR One's Dhoond Legi Manzil Humein.

The actress will commence shooting soon in Pune. We spoke to Sheetal Dabholkar about her role, the show and more.

What made you take up this role?
I liked the character a lot. Princess Gauri belongs to a royal family, so I thought it would be nice to play princess for the second time.

What do you like about Dhoond Legi Manzil Humein?\
I liked the concept of the show, which is contemporary and not typical saas-bahu stories, which are common on television. A story revolving around a political family is very rarely shown on television. I also love the nature of my character. I am really looking forward to start shooting.

Which has been your toughest role till date?
Playing the role of psychiatrist Dr. Devika Mathur in STAR Plus' Behenein, as I felt it was very challenging. The role had numerous shades. At first, she was positive, and later, she joined hands with Karan Mehra, the negative lead.

Which character you like from Dhoond Legi Manzil Humein? Why?
I like the character of Alka Tewari a lot. She is spunky, but at the same time, always believes in truth. It's very different from the usual leads or heroines we see on television.

When did the acting bug bite you?
Since I was a child. I used to watch my first cousin, Ashwini Kalsekar, act. Then I got interested in watching television. I stepped into acting only after my graduation. The role of Princess Sanyogita in Prithviraj Chouhan was my first acting break on television.

Which actress you admire most on television? Why?
I like Ragini Khanna aka Suhana from STAR Plus's Sasural Genda Phool. She is very natural and spontaneous. Her acting gives out positive vibes.

What do like about STAR One shows?
STAR One shows are mainly youth-oriented. I have kept track of Pyaar Ki Ye Ek Kahaani. I used to watch Dill Mill Gayye too.

Which royal beauty do you admire most?
Maharani Gayatridevi of Jaipur. I loved the style of the royal couple Prince William and Kater Middleton, who wed recently.

Which political film you like most? Why?
I loved Nayak, as it was a wonderful movie. I also liked Rajneeti, which was truly a political movie.

What's your take on the current political status in the country?
I don't follow politics, so I really can't say anything.

TV shows you don't like: I don't like the typical melodramatic shows which have a saas-bahu angle.

An incident you want to change in history: Prithiviraj Chouhan had many wives, and Sanyogita was his 14th wife. I want Prithiviraj Chouhan to have just one wife - Sanyogita.
