Generational conflict, particularly in a joint family, is a common occurrence in the Subcontinent. When family members from different eras live under the same roof, there is bound to be differences in opinion. In some cases, elders come around, in others they don't. In DP's case this was no different. We knew baapji was unhappy that Mohan would not be part of the family business, but he had reconciled, and more importantly, given Mohan his blessing to do well. As Soaps pointed, it was what happened yesterday--the sudden switch in baapji when he has became so hard lined with Mohan, was beyond comprehension. All of a sudden he was questioning Mohan's methodologies, his business sense, everything under the sun having to do with Mohan--this is not normal & this is why Baapji as the Gala elder is not credible as somebody whose advise is sound...
