Hey everyone, this is Lizzy, your backup updater for today! 😃 This epi is special because...um...er...ah...Mohan has a cameo extra besides his usual one today? 🤔 If that can ever be seen as a cause for rejoicing...😆

Anyway, on to the epi!

Recap

Baa and Kastur make several blank calls to the Gala household, all of which Baapji receives. Baapji screams at Bhanu for sending a consignment of chilli masala abroad. Mohan asks Bharat if there are any discotheques he can go to and leaves the house. Bhanu and Saroj discuss Mohan's return. Baapji calls up the Desais to wish them on Sonal's seemant and finds out from Kastur that Mohan is back, and screams at Bhanu and Saroj.

Short Update

1. Baa and Kastur talk about the rewards met when you finally meet the person you love after a long wait.

2. Saroj tells Bhanu that she wants Mohan back in the house at any cost.

3. Mohan returns to Bharat's house drunk, and when he sees the breakfast spread on the table, refuses.

4. Bharat discovers that Mohan has also started eating eggs.

5. Bhanu convinces Baapji by telling him that to keep this rule of not allowing Mohan back he will have to break his word to Jitu. We are shown that it was Baapji himself who gave his word to Jitu to marry off the two children.

6. Kastur goes to the temple and Mohan is jogging around the same area. They almost meet but don't.

Detailed Update

Part I

The episode begins with Kastur sulking in a corner while Baa is searching for the remote because she wants to see a Salman Khan film on TV. Kastur complains that Baa doesn't understand what SHE is going through...she has been waiting to talk to Mohan and wasn't even able to, and Baa chuckles telling her that Kastur wants to and doesn't want to talk to Mohan. She then turns to look for the remote once more but catches the way Kastur's face falls. Baa tells her that she should feel excited about Mohan's return rather than nervous. Kastur turns away and tells her that this is something Baa will never understand.

Smiling, Baa reminds her that she had once been like Kastur, and that she had to wait months and months for just a look of her husband who was in Rangoon sometimes, so she knows exactly how Kastur feels. Now in a lighter mood, Kastur teases Baa by singing Mere Piya Gaye Rangoon, and soon both sing it together.

Jassuben then tells her that what she will feel when Mohan finally returns cannot be described in words, and that all the moments she had spent waiting for him will disappear the moment she finally sees him. Kastur tells her that she has so much to tell Mohan, but Jassuben tells her that the sheer feeling of being in his presence will make her forget everything (sigh...how true, and not exactly in a very nice way either 😭). Kastur then changes the subject by telling her that she met Saroj Kaki at the Krishna Leela practice, but Baa teases her by telling her to call Saroj sasu-ma (I'd SO love to see the look on Saroj's face if she ever hears THAT 😆).

Part II

The action shifts to Bhanu and Saroj's bedroom, where Saroj is taking out several saris from the closet. Thinking that she is planning to leave the house, Bhanu tries very hard to convince her. Saroj blames him for Kastur's slip of tongue, but Bhanu reassures her that he never told Jitu anything. At this point he remembers that he received Saroj's call about Mohan's arrival at the seemant itself and guesses that Kastur must have overheard. Saroj looks irritated at Kastur's recklessness in telling Baapji after just overhearing something from Bhanu and takes more saris out of the cupboard. Bhanu then returns to pleading with Saroj not to leave.

Saroj turns to him, and rather smartly retorts that she isn't going anywhere because this is HER house - she was in fact getting the saris in order - and that Mohan WILL have to stay in the same house with her...and it was up to Bhanu to make it happen (Man...at times like this I love her attitude) Bhanu is reluctant, but Saroj tells him that she has waited for him 4 years and that wait had been hard to bear. Bhanu replies that it had been hard on him too, being Mohan's father, and with that Saroj convinces Bhanu to convince Baapji.

The scene shifts to the next morning in Bharat Mama's house, where Mohan is standing outside at the doorstep. Veena Mami notices that Mohan's eyes are bloodshot and that he looks slightly odd, and also that he wasn't in his bedroom and hasn't changed out of his clothes (so basically he'd been at the discotheque the WHOLE NIGHT??) Mohan tells her he looks tired due to jet lag. Bharat interrupts Veena in time by asking him if she is going to feed him with her questions or with real food. The table has some Gujarati snacks laid out, but Mohan tells them that this isn't what he usually has for breakfast: he usually has cornflakes with milk, pancakes and scrambled eggs. Veena appears shocked when she hears the word 'eggs' and Mohan hastily covers it up by telling her that he doesn't eat it. Bharat finally diffuses the tension by telling Mohan they'll try and get something from outside, and Veena leaves.

Bharat chides Mohan by reminding him of all the things that Saroj has borne with just to make sure Mohan had his freedom, but Mohan sidetracks what Bharat has to say by assuring him that a good jog would get rid of his hangover.

The scene shifts to Baapji's bedroom. Baapji is doing some very scary looking breathing exercises and Bhanu enters in to ask him about Mohan. Baapji tells him that he will never break his own rules. We are then shown a flashback where Baapji screams at Bhanu for having taken a loan from Jitu to support Mohan's education, and tells him it is shameful because they have never been in debt to anyone before ever (he has some of the most regressive lines in this show: "Kissi ki daulat aur aurat ko haath lagana mein paap maanta hain"...thanks Baapji, nice to know you equate women with property, not that we didn't know this EARLIER...🤢). Baapji then declares that it is necessary to go to Jitu's house and speak with him.

At Jitu's house, Baapji offers Jitu the papers of the shop, telling him that since he can't repay, he will give the shop papers to Jitu as recompense. Jitu refuses stating that as he is like a son to Baapji he will always do a son's duty. As a result, Baapji offers to have Mohan to marry Kastur once he returns. Jitu and Bhanu are uneasy with this, but Baapji is firm.

With this, Bhanu reminds Baapji that if he doesn't allow Mohan to return, Kastur can never become the bahu of the house. Baapji reluctantly agrees to let Mohan come home.

Part III

Kastur is doing pooja at the Krishna mandir nearby, and the priest blesses her for her long wait for Mohan and for her devotion to Krishna. Kastur tells the priest that this is not mere ritual for her - it is her life and she derives strength for worshipping Him. The pujari tells her that she looks incredibly happy today, and asks about the reason. Kastur blushes and tells him that she is praying to Lord Krishna that the moment she has been waiting for so long, will come soon. At this point we are shown Mohan (in a beanie cap, white shirt and black track pants 😳) jogging close to the mandir. A gust of wind blows over Kastur's dupatta and she feels the strange sense that Mohan is near her again. Mohan and Kastur almost pass by each other but do not notice each other at all.

Precap: Mohan returns home with a 'Hey Everyone!' The family is happy to receive him and he is shown hugging Kirti Kaka. Mohan then catches sight of Baapji.

Episode Rating: 5/10. Same as yesterday -- BARELY any improvement 🥱
