Unfortunately, in India, General surgeon do surgery for Gyn-onco patients. My aunt had ovarian cancer and was operated by general surgeon in a big city and reputed hospital. So it does happen. That's why I insisted my cousin (who also had ovarian cancer in her 30's) to get surgery by Gyn-oncologist. But, anyway, it is not related to this serial, but just wanted to let you know that it happens..

Another thing...in previous case tumor could be removed. and it was done. So D was right. In aggressive cancer, we can not wait. Chemo-surgery-chemo is the protocol. Even in today's episode, I think D should have said no to immunotherapy. This patient has 2 small daughters. The success rate of chemo and surgery is manyfold higher than immunotherapy.

Yes agressive tumors are treated by chemo or radio first.Bcz the spread is faster. When the tumor is spreading , you cannot resect and remove everything. When its aggressive you have to check if it has metastasized and den decide if it should be operated or not. Pardon me if dt shown in the episode.....bcz I hvnt watched the whole of it.

Surgery is not the mainstay of treatment in higher stages of ovarian cancer either. The size has to be decreased by chemo or radio , then surgery done. Some of my personal experience ( I had relatives suffering from cancer ) says , when the cancer is rapidly spreading surgery is never done. Most oncologists prefer chemo or radio.

Also I never said immunotherapy has higher success rates. I said it doesnt kill pts. Pt might respond to it.....when other things are not possible.

Anyways thing is I never said Deepika was wrong or her decision dt tym was. I said the way it was shown wasnt accurate. And dt Aditi or her treatment didnt mean to kill the pt or treat her like a "lab rat" like someone here said. Found dt offending. My case in point was not to prove Deepika wrong but to say dt suggesting immunotherapy ( when it had shown promising results) wasnt criminal.

Good to know that you are a doctor. I am too and a scientist. Directly involved in new medicines and clinical trials every day. Happened to work with immunotherapy as well for cancer and other indications. Long shot at this moment. Again, it's a serial and far from reality.

Anyway, as you mentioned, conflict of opinion. well said, but I want to disagree here. Aditi can not humiliate another doctor in front of patients. We do see conflicts of opinion every day, right? Did you ever humiliate another doctor? I did not, at least not knowingly. Aditi not only humiliated Deepika but Abhay as well. She told Abhay that he doesn't know his work in front of a nurse.

Also, please do not confuse "care" with "love". When Aditi was pregnant, Vikrant cared for her, never loved. I understand Aditi's situation, but you can't get love by snatching, begging, or humiliating. Vikrant said one thing correct, they will live loveless life until one of them dies.

and to answer your other comment... it's a mature relationship between V and D. Deepika can't through a "sorry" bouquet and run like Peroz.

See I never said its the go to treatment. Just dt here people are accusing her of trying to kill a patient which isnt true. I understand the dislike for her and why but accusing her of things which isnt true is not right. And as doctors , a number of times we do go for long shots , its not unheard of .

As for your second point , if you had read my posts here correctly , You would hv seen I have already said what you are saying. Aditi was wrong in barging in. She was also wrong in interfering in a case dt doesnt belong to her . She was also unprofessional in arguing in front of a patient . About scolding Abhay.....yes she was wrong but here in India Junior docs face dt on a daily basis.I hv already said all this......you might hv missed dis.

Care and love is not the same. True. But in a 10 yr marriage which we hvnt witnessed , you cannot say there wasnt even a moment of love. Love doesnt only mean the kind of love V feels for D. Love comes in diff shapes and forms....atleast dts what I believe.

On your last point. I do not agree at all. They arent mature people at all. They have made all stupid decisions all along. Its not called mature , its called Selfish .

I too live in a small city. My sister is a gynaec . And she doesnt take up cases of onco. They either end up wid onco surgeons or gyn -onco. India has come a long way . Now a days oncosurgeons are available everywhere. You have dedicated cancer hospitals too. Gyn- onco is a known superspecialisation.

Dts what my personal experience says. I dont live in a big city either but all these things are availbale here. Dt is why I said it.
