When I started watching DKDM, and even right upto the Jallunder track, despite there being many many deviations from known legends even then, the show was at the top of its game, and I always felt that it would be good for this show to be viewed even by western (hon Hindu) audiences - so that the regular folks there get an idea of what the belief system of HInduism really is. I feel this belief system gets a lot of grief, due to lack of knowledge; and usually the entertainment method works best in getting information out.

Now I pray that these audiences never even hear of DKDM, as their misconceptions would most likely be reinforced.

Well in the original story the Devi felt she was snubbed by Shiva and therefore she wows never to marry and remain a sanyasan for life. She was supposed to be a great devotee of Shiva. There is a wonderful tale of Shiva and Shakti in KanyaKumari and if the makers like we say many times stuck to the original plot can make something so spectacular than their haggard and dubious versions on screen and that is why they even loose the plot towards the end in the Jalandhar tale. When u give an end it has to match the story and not just change the basic plot and expect the end to match what u started out to say.

God ! are people going cray about the writer's non-existent obsession with Adi-Shakti..if there indeed was anything of that sorts , we would have gotten a better , more legitimate versions of Adi-Shakti legends so far in the show,there is not one Adi-Shakti track in the show which wasnt offensive to Shakti...this pathetic writer obviously knows how to screw up the beautiful Shakti legends..with the exception of very brief & only moderately good Baglamukhi & Dhumavati tracks , there was nothing in the show that actually did any form of justice to Shakti-Centric tracks..even the so-called good Malla-Mani track was grotesquely offensive to Shakti on so many levels..

Are we again gonna argue about UN's Shakti centric tracks?...
