one of the Most beautiful stories in Shiv Puran, that of Mahananda.. the devout harlot has started..!!
I remember vividly tht this story was shared by Sudishna Mam in this Forum itself and i remember myself crying after reading the tale.!!
Mahananda.. who served the men as devotedly as if she is serving Shiva..!! She belonged to a group of women who are looked down upon by the society.. but still before Shiva all are equal..!! Infact.. the purity of mind is the most necessary ingredient to reach God..!!
Though it is a short track, but I am happy the way they have started the track..!!
it begins with showcasing the prevalent hypocrisy in the society, whr a priest is chants Lord's name, but is ready to rob the ppl in the name of Lord..!!
the Irony dialogue "Mai Pujari hoon, Vyapari nahin"
and then stopping Mahananda from entering into the temple premises, behaving as if they are the ones who hold the rights over God and no one else..!!
I noticed the contrast wen Mahananda and Pujari had their faceoff..!! Being a priest is considered to be the purest job.. bt then his own dealings wid the common folk and then his baseless taunts to Mahananda suggested his level..!!
and on the other side there was Mahananda..!! she is in a profession considered to be blot on the face of society..!!
but then the Story of Mahananda is all about the fact the Lord sees the purity in a person's devotion nt his profession..!!
and also Mahananda reminded me of Madanike during the age of Sati.. and how well she brought out Mahadev's philosophy of equality before Sati as opposed to the discriminatory society set up by Daksh..!!
Mahananda again reaffirms the eternal truth the "God is for All.. irrespective of what he or she is..!!"
