Ok i am not saying that piyush isnt good as Ram he is very good. But i am talking about audiences.SRJ definately had more fans and when Ramayana track was announced most people were excited to see SRJ as Ram.When it was announced that he wont pLay Ram many people lost intrest including me.WHat i am saying is that yes Ramyana track was handled badly but if SRJ was palying Ram even if Ramayana was stretched SRJ fans would have seen it for his sake and thus TRP's wont have reduced. This is my POV

I agree with your post!

The Ramayana track could have been handled better if SRJ played Lord Rama's role..moreover the track was not handled properly...it was very slow.

SRJ is a great actor and definitely awesome.

buts its my general view that his fan following is not extremely huge like some others like gurmeet choudhary or karan singh grver for ex. which can fetch TRP's. he's a great actor.

the ramayan track as i mentioned in my other post was completely mishandled. it was dragging a bit too much. so no matter who played ram trps would still drop with such pathetic hypothetichal scenes. but yes srj would surely be a better choice!

Ramayan track was really boring..
People don't watch shows like DKDM for actors..

It's only for the unique stories of Shivpuran..

I also am a fan of SRJ..He is wonderful as Narayan and brilliant as Sri Krishna but I don't think he could have make boring Ramayana track hit...

I very much doubt srj could have made it a hit people watch dkdm for stories related to shiv. If you want to watch Ramayan then watch a Ramayan serial dkdm worst mistake was completely using Ramayan as a story line when mahadev is hardly mentioned so it looked like it was a Ramayan serial rather than one based on shiv.

If story was handled right, even Piyush could have made it interesting. I don't think it is much about the actor. Personal opinion though: Would have been even more interesting (along with story-promptness + screen play) if SRJ did play the role. As we are adjusted to viewing him as Vishnu and him playing his avatar would have been soothing; just as Mohit plays his different personas, with exception of 1-2..?

@ bold.. the correct observation according to me... the whole fault lay in the way the story was handled.. also Ramayn is too common to be shown on TV from time to time..!!

I am gonna assume here that the storyline that the CVs chose would have remained unchanged regardless of whether Rama was played by Piyush or Saurabh.

In which case, it would have bombed anyway. I think Piyush by himself portrayed an excellent Rama, just like Rubina did a very good Sita. That was not the problem. The problem was that in trying to artificially insert Mahadev into every event in Rama's life, which was ahistorical, they came up w/ some ridiculous depictions, such as Taraka as an environmentalist, eliminating Vashistha's role as Rama's guru (heck, that's what Vashistha's best remembered for!!!), showing Rama & Lakshman in vanvasi attire while in Mithila and distorting even fringe Ananda Ramayan stories, showing Ganesh instead of Dasharatha saving Kaushalya. Or even events before, like showing Mahadev being ready to kill Ravan for defiling Vedavati.

For a Mahadev serial, the only time it would have made sense to show Rama would have been during the establishment of the Rameshwaran jyotirlingam. Had this serial been respectful of Parvati & Mata Durga/Kali, another occasion to show them would have been during the Akal Bodhan, when Rama performed Durga Puja to win over Ma Durga's support from Ravan to himself.
