WHY Mahadev closed eyes

yesterday episode parvati closed mahadev eyes and the universe becomes darker and he warned parvati that his eyes should not be closed.My question is mahadev closes his eyes for meditation or dyaan for several times or years,then the universe didnt become darker.

Very good question. Mahadev closes his eyes during meditation because at that time he is conscious of what he is doing, and even though he closes his eyes, he sees to it that the universe is filled with light.

But when someone else closes his eyes, Mahadev is not doing anything. It is another person who closes the eyes, in this case, Mata Parvati. So that time, he has to open his third eye to give light to the world. Did you get my point? Or are you like this -😕?😛

in some purans... i even read it like... mahadev has his half eyes open and half eyes closed...

full closed eyes depict complete darkness and starts the destruction process of world...

eys open mean.. nature proces of time... day and night ... life activities of the world.. keep taking place...

they dont depict in majority of pictures.. bt it is said tht.. he has his half eyes open.. and never closed.. (deliberately atleast)

Parvati closed Shivji eyes last year remember while playing chausar but that time he calmly open his third eye without any consequence what happened different this time.😕
We all expected Andhak to happen then. But I think better late than never. 😆

Well Mahadev giving light to the universe ius just an allegory that God is the one who imparts knowledge to all... Also, Mahadev is said to possess three eyes which are the Sun, Moon and Fire.
