Well, seeing Urmila today for the first time, looks like she's cut out (in a manner of speaking, as we'll see why in a moment) for exactly that kinda role. Lakshman is picking fruits, and she first attacks and threatens him w/ a dagger 🤣 and he has to deny that he's stealing fruits. Lucky that Rama & Sita arrived in time, or else poor Lakshman would have been stabbed.

In this serial, both Lakshman & Urmila are singularly unattractive 👎🏼 If the AS Ramayan showed Lakshman hurting Urmila by telling her that he can't marry her, this one has Urmila giving Lakshman a heart attack 🤣 I wonder whether Lakshman will protest when Vishwamitra suggests that Urmila be given in marriage to him - maybe he will, and Maryada Purushottam will shut him up w/ a bhashan on Maryada.

I loved Piyush in Shapath and even as Rama, but when they were walking back, Rama had a really worried look to him, which would be totally out of character. If anything, Lakshman was the stiff one, very unlikely to be moved by Urmila - particularly this one, but Rama seemed totally detached from the beauty of the surroundings. And Sita - couldn't she have teased Urmila about finding her match? 😆

The Shubhak story - is it real, or one more of DkDM's manufactured stories? If Mahadev can give Shubhak bhashans on the unimportance of wealth, why can't he - and Shubhak's father - lecture the other sons on the importance of sharing w/ everyone? I thought Shubhak got a raw deal, and I don't think the message Mahadev gave him in the context of his brothers was the right one.

I've stopped watching, but just caught today's episode. This serial is now a mytho comedy 🤣

Hm... Urmila stabbing Lakshman would be good.🤣 Oh well, she still gave him daggers with her eyes. And what is this? Rama is goin nd telling SIta about her "Kartavya" and she should not have her free will? And he is telling Lakshman that he should not fall in love? What sort of Rama is he?

Hanuman - 😆. Those poor rishis must be really feeling irritated and helpless! 🤣

And SHubhak story - leave it to DKDM to twist storylines and names like anything! AND Timelines!

The story of Shubhak is slightly altered but it is a true story. BUt then, the story is like this. Vaivasvata Manu, the son of the Sun God, and Rama's ancestor, had a son named Nabhaga. Nabhaga had ten sons out of whom one is our Shubhak, whose actual name is Naabhaaga.

Now, when Naabhaaga went to the Yagya, he helped the rishis by chanting two mantras called Vaisvadeva, and they completed the Yagya and gave him the wealth. Just then a blackish man came there and claimed his right over the wealth. When Naabhaaga refused, the man took him to Nabhaga, his father and settled the dispute. Nabhaga said, "This is none other than Lord Rudra, who presides over the wealth received after the Yagya. The reason is, during the Mahayagya of Daksha PRajapati, Lord SHiva was not invited, and his wife Devi Sati burnt her body. As a result, Mahadeva sent his fearsome Rudra form to destroy the Yagya. When he destroyed the Yagya, all the deities worshipped SHiva and asked forgiveness. SO Rudra Veerabhadra also was calmed down. To please Veerabhadra, the sages said that from now on whatever wealth is got from a Yagya, it is the property of Lord Rudra."

Rudra smiled and blessed both father and son. HE then taught Naabhaaga the Rudra Gita.

Now, the problem is, all this happened THOUSANDS of years before Ramavatara.

Did Naarbhaga's brothers divvy up the entire property w/o putting aside anything for him, and did his father agree to that? That's what they showed, and thereby, they made it look like Mahadev endorsed such selfishness, which would be very out of character.

Moh means excessive attachment to something, so as to not let go of it. It doesn't mean that if someone wants one's bare necessities, it's moh. If one is hungry and wants to have lunch, would that be moh? According to this serial, it may well be. 😕

Valmiki never covered the topic of Lakshman & Urmila, so it's hard to say, but most accounts have it that Lakshman was not attached to Urmila at all, the way Rama was to Sita. Rama would have had to tell Lakshman to fall in love. And Lakshman feels smitten by Urmila b'cos she threatens him? 😆
