true but the story they showed in DKDM about nahush becoming adult so fast is also not mentioned in purans atleast I dont think so😕

We've discussed this on a number of occasions wrt Asokasundari, but it's increasingly evident that the Nahusha who was the father of Yayati, the devraj who replaced Indra & stalked Sachi, had Bhima in his coils and did a bhashan exchange w/ Yudhisthir b4 getting his original form back and returning to swargalok - that Nahusha is not the same as Asokasundari's husband. It's unfathomable that Parvati would be so excited about creating a daughter whose goal in life would be to marry that Nahusha. Instead, the Nahusha that she had in mind for her daughter was the son of Ayu and Indumati - who they showed in the serial. That Nahusha was kidnapped at birth by Hunda, since it was foretold that he'd be the killer of Hunda. On top of that, Hunda once harassed Asokasundari and so she cursed him that her Nahusha would kill him. And Nahusha did kill him, but before marrying Asokasundari, and without any help from either Kartikeya or Ganesh (unlike what was shown in DkDM) Also, Nahusha was not artificially accelarated to grow older soon.

The reason some of us concluded this was that the Nahusha who became devraj became devraj in the Satya yuga - this was after Indra killed Vritra & Trisiras. Due to the sins Indra committed in the process of doing this, he abdicated, and the devas were left leaderless. So they invited Nahusha, the ruler of Prathishthana (today's Prayag) to become their ruler, and he agreed (Yayati probably succeeded him on earth). Then Nahusha initially started as a good ruler, but over time became vain and arrogant - presumably, being a devraj does that to you. Then he went after Sachi, and the rest is history.

Now, Vritra was killed probably during the Sati era, and so Nahusha would probably have become devraj and gone thru everything. Thousands of years later, Shiva & Parvati would have married, and by then, that Nahusha would have been an anaconda or something in the jungle.

But now, Parvati, after her marriage, first gets Kartikeya, and later, creates Asokasundari. Now, Asokasundari is said to be older than Nahusha, who as a baby, is kidnapped by Hunda, and lives away from his parents. Then events happen, Nahusha saves Asokasundari by killing Hunda, and Asokasundari offers to marry him. He balks initially since he's younger, but she tells him that as Shiva's daughter, she'll always be this young, and so he agrees and they marry & return to his parents.

So since Asokasundari is older than her husband Nahusha, her husband is proven not to be the same ruler as the one who stalked Sachi. Add to that the fact that Vashistha was not the kulguru of the Chandravansh, only the Suryavansh. Also, it's inconceivable that Shiva & Parvati would quietly tolerate their son in law going after another woman, or being cursed to becoming a snake for an entire yuga, leaving their daughter defenseless. All that tends to point to the fact that our Nahusha in this serial never became devraj.

I guess till now Nahush was Devraj. So yesterday how did they show Indra to be Devraj ? Has Nahush been deposed of the title of Devraj ?

I missed 2-3 episodes in between. Was it shown in the serial during that time that the title of Devraj was taken away from Nahush and given back to Indra ?

No, when Ravan defeated the devas, they fled to Mahadev, and had amongst them Surya, Agni & Nahush. That was the last time they showed Nahush as devraj.

They've corrected it since.

That Nahusha's wife (according to Harivamsa, at least) was a woman by the name Viraja a.k.a Suswadha.

While detailing Nahusha's lineage, HV mentions he was the son of Ayu and Prabha. Ayu himself was the son of Uruvashi and Pururava.

Nahusha and his wife Prabha had five sons - Yati, Yayati, Samyati, Bhava and Suyati. Yayati suceeds his father as king, because the eldest son - Yati- becomes a yati (ascetic).
