watched today's episode, i liked the confrontation bitween raavan and the gurus. how they broke the bandigruha of raavan was realy great, that's how guru breaks our ties of ignorence.

This epi. was dedicated to all the Gurus. They showed Ravan, they are superior compared to him.

Rishi Vashstha & rishi Vishvamitra, Gurus of Ram are great too & not to forget, Shivji is Guru for everyone. A Gyan sabha today would have been perfect. But the practicals shown by Brihaspati & Shukracharya was good. They even fight if needed. Seeing Brihaspati in his armor today, remembered the 1st epi. of Shukracharay, he too was in armor with asura army.

I just watched the episode now, and I'll start w/ 2 things they did right:

In swargalok, they showed just Brahma, Saraswati & Narada - no Vishnu or Lakshmi 👏 At least this one serial gets this right
Parvati, while discussing Rama's guru, mentioned that Rama had no idea about his own divinity!!! Thank you! This is the biggest thing that all Ramayan's - except Valmiki's - miss. Rama had to be ignorant of his divinity in order to kill Ravan, or else, he couldn't have either, since Ravan did have immunity from Narayan

Okay, so back to the rest of the episode. First, it was funny to see a pretty nervous Meghnad - he didn't look anything like the flamboyant prince who Rama & Lakshman dreaded even more than Ravan. And the first thing that Ravan says about him - that it's his bedtime 😆

So did Ravan imprison the planets, or did they escape - which is it? In the Imagine TV Ramayan, they showed Ravan give Mandodari a tour of his observatory, where he had all the planets imprisoned 😆

So was Shani Dev the only planet Ravan imprisoned, or were there others?

Also, Ravan & Shukracharya were never on hostile terms - while Shukracharya was not Ravan's guru, he was said to have been assigned to Meghnad, and it's he who taught Meghnad the Nikumbila puja, which the latter did before his death.

Another thing that struck me - in this serial, Meghnad can't be called Indrajit, since there's no Indra, and they can't make him Nahushjit either - that would be too funny 🤣

On the defamation front, having had their fill in defaming Kartikeya & Parvati, they are now up to defaming Dasharath & Rama. First, attached as he was, Dasharath had no qualms about sending Rama to gurukul ever, and nor did Vaishistha ever go to Mahadev complaining about him: in fact, Vaishistha had the highest opinion of all his disciples, including Dasharath. Dasharath only had problems sending Rama w/ Vishwamitra since he was unsure about Rama being able to fight Rakshashas, and he obviously had problems w/ Rama being exiled. But the rest of his reputation about being obsessive about Rama is undeserved.

As for Rama, DkDM showed him shooting & missing his target - hitting the periphery, but not the center. And Mahadev comes in his original form to lecture him, and this too at Parvati's behest. (I'm glad Sona wasn't the one giving him such inane suggestions) Also what was Rama doing alone - shouldn't Lakshman, at least, be w/ him? In fact, all 4 bros were great archers - I'm guessing Mahadev deserves the credit for that as well?

Meghnad looked most un-Meghnad like... and Ravan wasn't happy to see his son? Just looked at him like, Oh This idiot is standing here. CHalo Meghnad, so jaao chup-chap. Khatam kahaani.

Even I was of the opinion that Ravana imprisoned all the navagrahas - at any rate, Ramayan is more reliable than Mahadev, so I would lock option A.

I actually got angry yesterday... they are showing it as if Dasaratha is some obsessed father and Vasishta is a helpless Guru who has to teach in the palace, so Mahadev says Vishwamitra will teach them? That is wrong in so many ways, I don't know where to begin.

@surya..for this they r not showing about Gurukul...from SBS epi I saw that 4 brothers went with Vishwamitra..n Taraka,Subahu,Maricha is still alive..in this ME Ram will kill Taraka Rakshashi..n that Ram will be Piyush..
