question about Sapta Shloki Durga Stotra

Nameskar,

I hope that someone can give me more information about the Sapta Shloki Durga Stotra.Durga Sapta shati has 700 stanzas..What is the dffrence between them?

Thanks in advance for the person who can give me an answer..

Also i have a request is it possible to make a sticky thread for Durga qeustions ..just like we have for Shiv??

Hi,

Durga Saptashloki was told by Lord Shiva. It is an effective alternative for most of us who do not know or are unable to recite accurately or don't have the time or the knowledge to say the entire Saptashati.

It is said if you say Saptashloki with full devotion it is equivalent to doing the Chandi Paath (another name for Durga Saptashati). If you recite this with the 32 names of Durga everyday, you will be under her personal tremendous protection.

I tried to paste 2 links, one with the shlokas and meanings and another with a beautiful rendition , but was not allowed as I am new to the forum.

The meanings are available on Kamakoti.org.

And the rendition I love is on youtube, which you can convert and download. Just type in Durga Saptashati its the first one, lasting 3.46 minutes. Not the Anuradha Podwal one.
