My dear Nikki,
Thank you for being so very kind and welcoming me to this forum, which is new for me, though I have been watching DKD Mahadev since October last.
I do envy you for having been able to watch it practically from the beginning, and whenever there are flashbacks of the Shiva-Sati parts, I feel sorry that I missed those telecasts. The online thing is not the same at all.
I am from Tamil Nadu, where Kartikeya is widely worshipped, and I loved the parts about him after I came on board. I have not watched any other mythologicals, but I doubt if the Kartikeya story would have been covered anywhere else. But I would have liked to have seen the earlier parts about the saravanpoigai (the pool next to the Ganga where the 6 babies were, as per our legends in the Skandapurana, found by Parvati. She gathered all of them up in her arms, and in the process, their bodies fused into one, but the 6 heads remained separate. Whence his Tamil name, Arumugam, which means he with the six faces. I do not know how this part of the story was shown here.
Kartikeya is also called Gangeya, and Gauritanaya, for obvious reasons. He is very well cast in DKDM, as is Ganesha, who is really a poppet.
My mother and I both love DKDM, and once it is over and they bring out a full set on DVDs, I will be among the first to buy it and watch all the parts we missed!
Well, I do not want to go on and on, as I used to do in the PR forum, but I hope to meet up with you and Tannu regularly from now on.
