Actor Saurabbh Roy is ready to slip into a mythological character. He will play Draupadi's father, Draupad, in the upcoming show "Mahabharata". He is overjoyed with the opportunity.

"Unlike my character in daily soaps like 'Amita Ka Amit', the role of Draupad demands a lot more physical fitness and elegance," Saurabbh said in a statement.

He was earlier a part of the show "Khatron Ke Khiladi Torchar" with actress Smita Bansal, and was also seen on "Amita Ka Amit" as Amita's dream boy.

Television actress Ratan Rajput, who was last seen in Swayamvar Season 3 ' Ratan Ka Rishta on Imagine TV also acquired immense fame with her on screen character Laali on Star Plus' popular show Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo. After lying low for quite some time now, Ratan is all set to do Siddharth Kumar Tewary's upcoming mythological series Mahabharat.


We spoke to Ratan who will be spotted playing a cameo, "I'll be doing a guest appearance for merely 2-3 episodes. My role is that of Princess Amba, which itself is a very strong character. Amba's sole objective in life is Bhishma's destruction. So basically, you'll see me in a fighting mode," says Ratan.


Ratan who got lot of appreciation and love from the audience is now experimenting with different kinds of roles. In her personal life, the actress is quite spiritual and if she wouldn't have been in the acting profession, she would have surely been a house-wife.

The very talented actress Ratan Rajput holds a positive approach for Siddharth's new show. She believes that the young generation will find it easy to connect themselves to this all new epic saga.


Talking about her on-set masti, Ratan says, "Currently, we are shooting at Umargaon in Gujarat. While on one hand it's very hectic, on the other hand we're having our share of fun here along the sea-side. We get time to climb trees, pluck jamuns and mangoes. Also this is my first historical show; so a lot of memories are getting attached to it. I'm enjoying it."
