Kollam made out of white rice powder meticulously drawn by the young girls adorned all the streets and roads,

Large OttuVellakku, [BRASS LAMPS] filled with til oil lit up every door and window.

The Two temples were a sight to behold.

Every nook and corner had a small lamp glimmering.

A Maha Kumbabishekam [ POOJA OF THE KALASHA ON THE TOP OF THE TEMPLE] was in progress.

Puja and homam for the 'Vastu purusha' was being conducted, in Suchindram for Shiva and in Nanjil Nadu for Shakthi. Vedic mantras were chanted and homam performed in the several homa kund that was built around the temples. A large number of pots (kalasha) was placed in front of the vatgasalasm. The pots contained holy water covered with mango leaves with a coconut kept in the centre entwined on the outside with a piece of thread. The water in these pots were brought from the holy rivers of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati.

The water was thus sanctified and poured on the Kalasham on the top of the gopuram of the temples amidst chantings that vibrated and purified every living soul on earth.

Shakthi sat her head demurely bent, as Jaya and Vijaya braided her long hair.

Roses deep red in colour was attached the braid. The Rakodi had small jasmine flowers arranged around it.

The Netti Chutti lay on her forehead; the rubies twinkled every time she moved

Deep Vermillion color kumkumam in a perfect round sat in-between her black feather like eyebrows.

Chandanam paste was applied on her blushing cheeks.

Her eyes large, doe shaped, more enhanced with black Khol, were luminous.

Her mookuthi, An emerald on one side and diamonds on the other glinted in the sunlight.

The bullakku nested shyly on her lips.

Kasu Malai around her neck, and Vanki around her upper arm. Jhumki with beautiful pearls twirled from her ears,

Her lips turned up making a dimple appear on her cheeks. Vijaya placed a small black Khol dot on her chin and stood back to look at Pure exquisiteness.

Shakthi's Pavadi was replaced with Nine Yards Podavai [ 9 yards saree], a deep maroon, around her small waist was a gold Odyanam.

Green, gold, and red bangles tinkled around her delicate wrists.

The golussu [anklets] sang in happiness.

Her palms were decorated with Marudani [mehendi] which she looked at every now and then. She saw her Shiva through the bright red spot in the center.

Her beauty was sublime, those who saw her felt themselves awakened from within, they were enlightened just by being in her presence.

Shiva was mesmerized with his bride.

You are not supposed to look swami, she blushed.

Lalataksha was unperturbed, his gaze transfixed on her eyes, her eyelashes long and black covered its coyness.

My eyes are unable to look elsewhere parvathi and unabashed Shiva continued to adore his Parashakthi.

Before the Cock Crows swami, she lifted her eyes to meet his, before the first ray of sun, she reminded him.
