^ In a gist, after killing rakhtbheej and other asurs MaKaali went on a rampage killing all asurs and to stop her "prakop" Shivji laid down in her path. Mataji didnt note that it was Shivji when she was thumping the dead asurs and only after on stepping on him, she calmed down..

Guys, can anyone show me difference between Maha Kali and Kali. Are they same? And she will stamp on Shiv, I heard. But does Shiv die?

Kaali and Mahakaali are the same..Mahakaali is the Virat or larger roop of Kaali Ma..

ShivJi cant die..hes immortal😆...

Mahakalis is destoying everything that comes in her way because of her thirt for asurs blood...so Mahadev sleeps in her way..on stepping on him Mahakali realizes its Mahadev and sticks her toungue out out of shock...she just steps on him thats it!that way she stops her rampage!

MahaKali, MahaLakshmi, MahaSaraswati are 3 forms of Goddess Parashakti, representing Tamas, Rajas, Satva Gunas. Their respective forms are Kali, Lakshmi, Saraswati. Kali as Paravti is Shivji's spouce. Lakshmi is Vishnuji & Saraswati is Brhmaji's spouce. Durga Saptashati, where this story of killing Asuras is given, mentions Mahakali as Mahamaya, who binds all the souls, then under her Maya everyone performs various karmas. In Mahakali's charitra, she puts Asura Madhu, Kaitabh under her Maya, then only Vishnuji is able to kill them.

MahaLakshmi's charitra is the 2nd one given in DSS, where she is appears as combined power of all te Devas, because ultimately through her shakti, they operate. She is Simhvahini here, kills Mahishasur. Her appearance is of Durgama with 18 hands. After finishing this task, she merges in Paravti, as this aadi Shakti has a form, so she merges in her othe form Paravti.

Again on Deva's prayer appears from Paravti to kill DL, Chanda, Munda, RB, Shumbha, Nishumbh. From her 3rd eye Ma Kali appears, she is wearing sari or skirt of Chitah's skin. Where as MahaKali wears skirt of hands.This is MahaSaraswati's charitra & she appears with 8 hands is Simhavahini. Even other Devas shakti comes to assist her in this war like Narsimhi, Aindri, Varahi, Brhmani etc. Before killing Shumbh, they all merge in Durgama including Kali, when he tells her I am alone & you are fighting with many to help you, then as Duragma she kills Shumbh.
