hahha excellent post!👏

I like the way Shukracharya shouts "Tarkasur!" to discipline him.. when he finds Tarkasur crossing his limits!

Also Shukracharya's wisdom n smartness at the time when Tarakasur threatened mother earth.

Ravana was a rakshasha, not an asura. Rakshashas were different - Asuras were sons of Diti while Rakshashas were I think the same as danavs.

Tarakasura - Raj Premi's most recent explot was in Imagine TV's Chandragupta Maurya, where he played one of the tribal chieftains Ahirya who supported Chandragupta and died while helping him to escape 😭 His signature slogan was 'shumba, shumba'.

But I agree - not all asuras and rakshashas were evil. In fact, if one looks @ it objectively, Vishnu was very unfair and discriminatory. In Kurma avatar, he did what he could to trick the asuras out of amrit, after using them to churn the ocean. In Vamana avatar, he cheated Bali, who was fighting a just war against Indra to avenge his father's murder while he was meditating on Vishnu, not for the sake of an empire but as a bhakt. Indra also desecrated his body so that there was no way that Bali could give Virochan a proper funeral. That's why Bali started his dharamyudh against Indra. In fact, initially, even Vishnu declined to support Indra b'cos of what he had done. But then Aditi and Kashyap went lamenting to him, and he relented. Dude, where was Diti? Why did she tolerate such injustice done to her clan?

I hate the devas. They were cheats, cowards, lowlives, losers and what have you. Aside from Indra's war w/ Vritra, did he ever win anything? All he'd do was go whining to Vishnu or Shiva to salvage his sorry tail. He was the one who cheated Ahilya into sleeping w/ him, taking the guise of her husband. Incidentally, according to Brahma, that was why he lost his battle w/ Meghnad. Other achievements of Indra - when the 60000 sons of Sagara were looking for their father's ashwamedha horse, Indra, who had stolen it to sabotage the yagna for vanity reasons alone, planted the horse in Rishi Kapila's ashram, so that he'd get blamed and then incinerate all 60,000 of them. 😡 After Parikshit's death, he shielded the Naga chief Takshasha to save him from the consequences of his act. The only good thing I can recall him doing was lending his chariot to Rama in the final battle against Ravan.

Sorry, didn't mean to break into a diatribe against the devas, but I'm strongly pro-asura and pro-rakshashas. Even among the most virtuous among them, aside from Vibhishan, who never achieved anything, there was Prahlad, who held his own against Indra, there was Bali, who was finally granted an entire Manvanthara in his name, there was Ghatotkacha, there was Banasura, who was vain, but not evil. I doubt that they'll show his story in this serial, since it includes Shiva getting defeated by Krishna. Also, I doubt that the story of Bhashmasura will be shown either.

But yeah, looking forward to this Asura AT. So far, we have Tarakasura and Vritra. Next I guess will be the Tripura demons? I want that track, rather than Ganesh, to follow Tarakasura's death.

Why should we stay with the simplistic assumption that if you're evil then you also must be ugly?
Leads to a million logical fallacies IMO!

But don't the puranas depict them as beeing black as soot, having fangs, and really long nails? Not very attractive traits. The paintings and wall carvings in temples always show them as being terribly horrific. And in DKDM, Shukracharya said that the devatas achieve immortality because of their piety and cleanliness. That would entail that the demons aren't as clean, right?

Has to be Baby Taki (Tarkasur) with all his tantrums and little missiles..hez more of the comedy quotient in the whole show apart from being the rubber ingredient to pull episodes

Actually no - there were a total of 16 fan clubs for Gurmeet (Rama). Debina had a few - I forget how many, and so did Ankit.

The first thread that I linked to above was fan club of all the rakshashas - Ravan, Kumbhakarana, Indrajit and later, even Lavanasura. That fan club did have 2 sequel threads, but both of those were mainly about Indrajit, and hardly anyone else. 😆
